EDIT:

MODS DELETE THIS. IT'S FIXED AND WORKS!

How the heck do I turn off the hazard lights? The switch on the colum of my 1984 GMC Jimmy won't turn the flashers off. I have tried every way I can think of to turn it off and it won't work. I had to dissconnect the battery for now. I looked in the little manual that came with the truck and it doesn't say anything about it.

all the switch does is push to turn on and pull to turn off. there is a screw in the center of the switch. remove it and reinstall screw and pull with plires to turn off. if it broken bad then new turn witch setup is needed.

There are two big fuses (round relays) right next to or on your fuse block, one makes the blinkers blink and the other controls your flashers, just pull the one for the flashers.

I can pull the outer piece but it doesn't do anything.

I will take it apart monday.

Thanks

Did you pull it down hard enough to move the switch? It takes some force to move that piece inside the column.

Alright I tried again, and like Randy said I wasn't pulling hard enough. It works fine now. Thanks
