I disconect my motors from the bellhousing. Only have to move it forward a couple inches then you can lift it up. Versus moving forward 8+ inches then up.
Motor and trans isnt very hard with no hood/rad so I couldnt see pulling it with the bell being very difficult. definitely save you some fannagling time with the top bell bolts.
Either way you will have to pull it far enough to get the input shaft of the transmission out of the clutch disc. I always figured though that the more you take off of an engine the easier it is to deal with.
