what color should i paint my motor. the truck is air force blue, with blue interior and the engine bay is blue and black. i plan on putting flatt black with red lettering chevy valve covers on with matching air cleaner cover. or another color i didnt list

find a way to make it invisible. maybe use the technology like the predator has.

black is cool and looks good even after some abuse.

smurf camo....

alright, black... can never go wrong with black...

My personal feeling is that the Orange is the correct color, just seems like the most common color I see used for Chevy. I hate the blue, because it reminds me of F*rd.

I wanted mine blk or orange butr the machine shop painted it blue so here is a couple pics fro you to look at if the truck is blue keep the motor blue, but it does remind me of ford but who cares, there is yellow also wich looks different and nice.

eh, bunk....

if your worried about "seeing leaks", well, turn your wrenches in..

it's a blue vehicle, not that orange doesn't go with blue.. But black is a perfect counter to any color or finish you put on a motor.. al VC's, red or blue anodized parts, whatever, it all looks good with a black block...

Not that I don't dig chevy orange, he!! I want an orange Snappy box, but the "if it's a chevy, it's gotta be orange line of thinking is ghey... Sure, sometimes it works, but sometimes black is a better alternative.... kinda like painting a car white, can't decide on a color, go white..

thats like saying the 67 Chevelle showcar done in Corvette yellow with black accents, will look better with an orange block, as opposed to a corvette yellow block..

......I think someone takes their engine color choices too seriously.......as for the 67 chevelle....what shade of yellow is it?

I didn't mean to "direct" that at you in particular, just a train of thought I saw prevalent...

It ain't serious... whatevers convenient.... whether thats touching up a black block in car, cause it's the easy "clean up", or a full blown color-coordinating a frame off gig, it's about what works for that app and what looks good to the builder.. from subtle to obnoxious...

sure, solid hugger orange car? squirting the block the same might make some good sense... painting a motor a color because of some false brand nostalgia, silly...
