Lol that purple is hillarious...my girlfriend wanted me to paint mine pink, I wanted to please her so I painted it .................... Black lol

not black!

only ever painted one motor black, the 2f in my Landcruiser. Sorry i ever did it, won't do it again. Looked sexy as hell until it got dirty for the first time, then just looked like a dirty old tractor motor. Never the same... can't just hose it off like a car body- too many nooks and crannies. Black just shows everything dirt related and hides all greasy oily messes that could have been prevented...

no more black for me.

Went with ruby red, not quite Chevy but looks cool. Cant wait to get some mud on her.

the one motor i had built, they painted it grey. said it was so leaks could be detected easier. i read somewhere that black on the engine is suppose to help cool it easier but i dont know if theres any truth to it.

i don't think the color of the paint would make any diff in temp...sure a white shirt is cooler than black in the sun, but i don't think that works for engines, altho i have been told that chrome holds heat in...so no more chrome oilpans for me...

i do know that on some race engines they paint inside of water jackets w/ same kinda paint they paint inside of electric motors, that supossed to help heat transfer to the water, forgot its name, but i've seen them pour it in and turn engine all around to paint inside...its a thermal type coating...its in electric motors for same reason, to help transfer of temp to the housing and fins...dielectric paint....thats what it's called..just came to me...

well i decided to go with orange, now im trying to decided if i should paint the intake orange also or leave it the bare aluminum that eldlebrock did. or paint it black. hmmmm:rolleyes:
