We are going to be relocating to Casper Wy. from south Mississippi the end of July. Its a 1607 mile drive.
We aren't going to be moving much, as we already sold most of everything but, i want to bring my sub out with us.
I have a 94 f350 cclb 7.3 to tow with but no trailer and am on a budget.

Options I've considered...

Tow bar and flat towing.
Kinda scared of death wobble while dragging it.

Tow dolly.

U haul trailer.
Put dually tires or another narrow option on it and jam it in and try to load down the front of the trailer to adjust for weight.
Going to be way over weight with bbc, tons, and bumpers.

Any other ideas?

I 2nd the tow dolly, cheapest and lightest. I have shipped several vehicles and you get charged a bunch more if they don't run and drive, it makes loading a lot harder. Sometimes shippers unload and reload for various reasons and if the non running truck is in the wrong spot it causes problems.

Welcome to Wyoming.

It should be running before the move, i just don't trust people with my truck, and if I'm paying a shipper I'll just buy a cheap flatbed. But neither option is really in the budget currently.

I always told myself Id buy a trailer for that kind of thing. Dolly is number two. Check that the tires can actually handle 85mph.

The tow rig can't go 85 lol

It is a sudden move, or else we would be better prepared with putting a trailer in the budget. I wish i had held onto my old pj buggy hauler but oh well.

For frame of reference, I paid $1K to have my k5 shipped from Reno Nv to Austin Tx in the middle of 2020. Am I correct for saying the driveshaft needs to be removed for towing on a tow dolly or with a tow bar, if its an automatic?

I’ve got a couple of dually tires/wheels you can have, the tires are dry rotted but they’d be fine stationary on a trailer or dolly?

What about coming back for the Sub in a couple of months? Rent a dolly up north and drag the Sub home?

If you stayed here you wouldn’t have this problem….

How would you do this in one trip? You’ll have to pull your camper plus the Sub?

I just finished a move with 5 vehicles and found that 1-way trailer rentals are nearly as expensive as shipping a car. U-haul doesn't have anything big enough for a Suburban, anyway. Even a dolly - can you get one big enough?

I only went 1/3 as far as you, but did not get it in a single pass. At the end, we had a dead car, so I bought a car dolly for $500 off marketplace (about the same money as renting a U-haul dolly). Now I'm free to sell it for $500. You might look around for trailers and find a way to float the cost temporarily.

Now as I mentioned, U-haul equipment can only haul a car, not a truck. It's very expensive, but really cheap to add-on if you're already renting a moving truck. So maybe Penske or Ryder or whoever has a larger hauler and the total package price is cheaper than whatever you're planning to use now.

PJ buggy haulers are nice.
