hahaha Nice pick! THat boat looks baddass /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

The 454 I have came out of a 73 truck so it was a truck engine built for low end. I think the factory compression was like 8:5.1 or somthing like that...I read about it a few months ago some were???
I was hopeing to have somewere around 375hp/400torque with this build up /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I was originally installing mine in a 66 Chevy Pro Street Pickup. The guy that helped me assemble it got a wild hair one night and "INSISTED" that we rig up some wiring and fire it up. We had some 100+ Octane race fuel on hand. It didn't need it, but it smelled GREAT. I need to do that again. /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif

I am already dreaming... The last time I got to drive a 454 was back in '90 when my Pops let me take his 454 '52 GMC flat bed with a TH400 and ratchet shifter. Man that thing was badtothebone /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif

just wondering, they didn't check the block for cracks? Noting the paint that is still on the block.

So...how much did that MPFI setup cost? And was it hard to rig up, or did a shop do that? Looks awesome. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I got it from Summit I think 2400, it comes completely assembled and Edelbrock presure test it to. So it,s just like installing a new intake with a huge wire harness & computer. They custome burn you a chip to your cam specs so the computer knows your engine..somewhat...I still have alot to learn. I hear the tuning can be tuff so ??? I'll find out
Burt

Your stuff is looking GREAT !!!! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
I think you will really like those heads with the bigger valves - I had a set of 781's with 2.19/1.88's and the power was FANTASTIC . They still had enough torque for a heavy truck but pulled real hard in the mid and upper RPM range when needed.
It looks like you are making a fine Blazer even better .....Good luck with the build up , Tom /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Ya it's the 3551 Performer not RPM, only diff is smaller injectors for idle to 5500 instead of 1500 to 6500 rpm or something like that...
