MPG Thread, curiosity

That's gotta be a record for a stock motor w/ 235k on it!
I would hope it has been rebuilt at some time, but it burns a lot of oil, and the valve stem seals are toast. I get a nice cloud of smoke when I start it up. :doah:

v2500 tbi 454 465/gv 3.73 and 265/75/16

drove 300 miles this weekend, with 100 on gravel, and about 5 of that aired down crawling over snow.

13.2

checked mpg over the course of the summer and it was usually 13mpg +or- .5.

Drove only highway this past week,
13.5 at 65-75
11.5 interstate at 80 ish
14 at 65-70
hard to beat that, with everything that I am able to use it for.

Well my bone stock 1990 350 tbi 4wd blazer,245000 miles, around town about11 ,hi way is a bit better about 13,but I drive pretty fast generally up around 70-75 mph

78 2wd Blazer lowered 5".
305 TPI
700R4
2.73 gears.
Dual exhaust with flowbastards
I knock down 22-24mpg on the freeway. I used to do 60,000 miles a year on it. This year maybe 40,000

I will throw the numbers from my last 2/3 trucks in here.

My '90 Suburban with a 4" lift, 1 tons, 5.13 gears, 39.5X13.5 Iroks, 6.2 diesel and 700R4 tranny would get 13-14 MPG.

My '88 V3 CC with a 6" lift, 1 tons, 4.10's, 38X12.5 TSL's, TBI 454 and TH400 qould get 9 MPG highway and 7 around town.

My '84 GMC had the same driveline as the V30 and got the same.
