MPG with fuel injection

Hey im looking into buying a 1st gen k5 that has been converted to fuel injection or has a swapped in fuel injected motor. I ideally want 6+in of lift and 37-38in tires, 14 bolt, d60 front. Was seeing what everyone with good fuel injection was getting for gas milage. Also curious about TBI milage also. I have a 98 silverado with 5.7 vortec and only get about 15. Thanks.

I didn't see that much improvement in mileage with TBI. You will see better throttle response, smoother running, easy cold starts. The best improvement is no more carb stalling off camber. That alone was worth the swap.

tbi any day of the week. and better than carb for milage and all the other stuff.

1987 305 TBI; 700r; 3:08 axles P235/75R15 Ring gear 9.50 in, Saginaw (S.P.O.) I get 17 mpg if I cruise at 65mph. Over that it goes down!

what about you guys with the aftermarket fuel injection systems? Accel super ram, edelbrock FI, or holley? Anyone know if anyone runs these or possibley LS1's or vortecs? Im not a big fan of the TBI system.

There's only one kind of good fuel injection.... and gas has nothing to do with it.

I get 17mpg (mixed, mostly city) with an SM465 and 33'" Muds.

So whats your fuel injection type and motor? And what is the one kind of good fuel injection?

i have had a good running tbi 350 in a 88 truck and my 96 vortec in my truck now. all i am going to say is vortec sucks butt. tbi anyday. or aftermarket system.

Mechanical injection.... 6.2L diesel.

what I was talking about is a blower on the motor for performance! That saying goes back to the 80s when some of you weren't around.........
