mph/rpm/tyres and ratios!!

I get picked on occasionally because of my Baaahhhhsston accent--here we Paaahhkk the Cahhh,and dine on lobstuhhs.When I went to nashville,it too the cab driver about 5 seconds to determine I come from the Bahhhsston area!.I could hardly understand him--he said he was late because he had a "flat Taarrr"--I finally figured out he meant "Tiyahhh"--thats the difference between north and south--up here we have "fiyahhs,down there its a farr--we have whyahhs,they have warrs.Funny how we all live in the same country,but sound so different!. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

That's how everyone that lives here says it, but that's certainly not how the french would say it.

believe it or not the word that gets me the most on this forum is hanger/hangar
for some reason I repeatedly use the 'ar'
I surf like a shotgunner, 4 forums open at a time with about 10 threads open at once, it gets crowded in the miniscual cranium and the spelling, puntuation, and grammar suffer a horrid death

Funny thing that you mentioned that. Your spelling is good, but seldom do I see you complete a sentence.
 
often for dramatic effect in hopes that the reader will fill in the rest of the train of thought.
I try and point to an answer or theory without giving it up entirely.

It must work here a bit as I can get several paragraphs sent in reponse to a single incomplete sentence post.
 
One notices these things.

Typically those people don't bitch about the spelling of others, however.

I was refering to the differences in English/Canadian/American spelling (assuming the English are correct and the rest of us are not) rather then an individual's spelling ability being greater based on geography.
 
Yeah it is funny, and when I was in your country everyone thought I was Australian!!! When we were in Texas buying my '91 I had to get my wife to order the food and drink as no one could understand me! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif And when filling up with gas in Mississippi (spelt that right??) the girl at the checkout looked at the truck with it's Texas plates and gave me a puzzled look and said "what part of Texas are ya'll from"!!! Hasn't she heard an English Texan accent before?!!! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif
