Has anyone tried spraying water pre-turbo to make the exhaust cooler (helping cool turbo) and make the air going into the turbo heavier, or more dense, to aid in spinning it up faster?

Just thought of that. Kinda sounds dumb but not sure why. Probably doesn't need help spinning lol

Actually I didn't. I was thinking I was going to need to preheat but the cast steel actually welded really nice.

Yea they spray all kinds of stuff.. Water methanol, mixtures of distilled and alcohol.. etc the list goes on.. water is pretty effective.. cheap too and doesn't create an invisible fire.

A lot of people inject windshield washer fluid. Some high freeze limits of winter fluid have up to 40% methanol.

Oh hey stuff happened...


tore down old dirty 9"


Took me 2 hours grinding, power washing, and wire wheeling to get bare metal.


Tacked on my Tabzone 9" backbone truss. Fit was awesome!


Played around a little with laying out some upper links and setting some 37"s in the picture


Engine mounts all tacked into place and was able to put my TNA crossmember to good use finally


Made some axle tube lower link mounts with some free time at work. Turned out how I wanted. Nice big machined chamfer for welding.

PRE-turbo? haven't heard of that, but post turbo/intercooler is common for everything injected into the intake manifold.

I didn't catch the "Pre-turbo" part before, but I can't say that I have ever seen anything injected pre turbo. Biggest thing i could think of would be bearing failure. if you were injecting anything into the turbo especially intermintently the heating and cooling on the bearings would cause a premature failure.

Well it is is technically pre turbo, it's just also pre engine.

I like them, they look trick. Can you get a wrench or socket on the bolt head?

Are you using metric rod ends?

The c'bore on them have enough clearance for a socket. I am in the process of machining my motor mounts and tranny mounts right now with a similar design.

And they are 1.25" rod ends
