muffler shop jaw jacking

I dont run open headers because I live next to a highway, and its annoying listening to anything open headers go by at 3 in the morning, so i like to treat others as I would like to be treated. Granted, after 20 years, i zone just about all of it out.

I would like to hear a truck setup with cats only - no mufflers. Whenever I've had both, it was too quiet. I've heard trucks with the pipe rotted off behind the cat, but having full pipes would mellow it out some more.

my 87's stock single exhaust had a straight pipe replacing the muffler when i got it... factory cat still in it... it actually sounded pretty good...

Mine may as well be straight pipes, headers to true dual 3", super 44's, to 4x24" tips turned out in front of the rear tires......yes its loud......and I love it. Sometimes if you are sitting between two objects (cars, etc) you can hear one side fire, then the other and back & forth, rather cool. Also loudness wise, I have set off car alarms that are 200+ ft away when Im running down the road at 45 :whistle:
