Muffler suggestions

I naively thought not doing it all the way out would cut down on cost... Amd here I am ending up potentially spending more.

Hell, I may even just keep what mufflers I have and get the exhaust to dump out in front of the rear tires...The sound is just bouncing off the ground to the bottom of the cab. It was a tad bit quieter with floor not just bare metal anymore.

We’ll see

Is there a way to just extend the exhaust from where it dumps without welding pieces together?

Yes, that’s far more mellow than mine...

You should have heard it with my Thrush turbo muffler. It was much quieter.

This one doesn't drone, sounds cool when you get on it, and has a nice sound that doesn't annoy my neighbors at 6 am, which is nice.

We've all been there in one way or another. Back in college I was working at a place that did exhaust work and the boss allowed me to have our exhaust guy put duals on my Nova. Full 2.5" with Turbo II mufflers. Those are short little turbo style mufflers for sure. Took two days to get it done. First day he got the pipes run from the manifolds back to the mufflers. I drove it back to my apartment with it dumping under the car. Holy crap was it loud. I thought it might be cool leaving it that way but it was totally obnoxious. Even to a 20-year-old kid at the time. I went back to work the next day and had them finish it. I was amazed at the change. It was bearable. It had a nice rumble at idle, but not overly loud. Cruising down the road was pretty calm. But the sound that was unleashed when the throttle was mashed was massive. It was great. But the main point being the change of sound going with full tailpipes was more than I expected. It was a good thing.

Big flowmaster with dual 2.5" in and single 3" out. Kitty cat at idle and roars when ya stand on it.

Yep, there's also a center inlet. @mrk5 picked them up at Advanced auto last go around, so shop around

Yeah, Advance Auto had them on sale for about $15ea. Had to drive to 2 different stores to get the size I needed.

I want a quieter ride in the Blazer. It’s too rowdy and to obnoxious with the black widow venom250’s... i will save those for the c10 with full exhaust.

Not too bad, but I like loud. Has a nice tone. @mrk5 wants all of his Honda quiet and he didn’t complain

Is it mellow enough for start up at 4 am and warm up for 10min? That’s my issue with my truck, it’s just too darn loud. I don’t mind a bit but not wake up the neighbors loud

If you want dead quiet, you better go down to 2.0” or get away from performance mufflers. Other option is buying a more expensive muffler and running a single

Nah, I don’t need dead quiet just not obnoxious like I have now. Mine is to throaty, loud and kind of drones in the cab when driving (probably because of where it dumps). I want a more mellow muffler that doesn’t dump under the cab any longer.

Dumping it outside quiets it both inside and out. Will help with some of the drone also

I think it's all about the exit. I have the crew cab exiting out the side of the truck behind the rear tires and it's quiet. The C10 I want to be a little louder so it dumps under the truck in front of the rear axle.

If you want a more subtle rumble, I'd do Magnaflow. The C10 has the thrush welded dumped at the rear axle and I don't feel like I'm being obnoxious in the mornings; it's not any worse than the neighbor down the street that lets is OBS Ford 7.3L diesel warm up every morning.
