my 350/203 to 465/205 swap

You never know how that's gonna go, huh? I'll never forget getting my tranny and case on my motorcycle jack and it going right in on the first try- by myself! As I walked around the garage patting myself on the back, I noticed my throwout bearing sitting there...

throwout bearing shmowout bearing, you coulda started in anytime you needed to stop and go :haha:

good question. i bought a new rear shaft from HAD with 1410 joints. from yoke center to yoke center of the new setup is about 41.5" in the rear. that's just under 7" longer than stock i believe. the front shaft is going to need shortening though. i haven't done any measuring yet, but it looks like i may need to take as much as a couple inches out of the current setup.

I hate the L-1-2-3 pattern.

I put a 5-speed knob in my crewcab from an S-10 I think (#1-5). I'd rather have the gears labelled correctly. The nonexistent gear doesn't bother me. ;)

Check out my shifter knob:

The one on the right is the one I had been running for a while but I hate reverse being in the wrong place. So the one on the left I got from MattK and I love having the correct pattern. :D

i am also doing the 4 speed swap in my jimmy, i have the pedels, but nothing else, lol

haha, you going to go with hydraulic or manual linkage? im runnin the linkage right now, but soon i should have the last of what i need to go hydro. im gonna wheel the linkage till it lets me down though. i drove it on the street for the first time today, and it felt great.

manual, im 6'4 and work out, no wimpy legs here

although in my old 77 shortbox the leg was tender after a day of wheeling

:D

yeah i should be 4x4 again by the end of next week. ill see then how it feels after a day of wheelin. until then, driving around town doesn't seem like its gonna be a huge issue.

or maybe i was just having too much fun this morning to realize my leg getting tired:haha:

i did that same swap in my 75 and now the clutch linkage keeps coming out of adjustment. but i dont know how, i craw under and everything looks good?

i think a hydro setup would be better what do i need to get to set it up?

if you want the pedels i can shoot you pics, hows 50 bucks us shipped.. u want clutch and brake, anything else i might have ask?

as the starter of this thread, im going to impose a hijack fee.

let's see them first borns, guys.

:haha:

well sorry to hijack

actually picked up my 77 465/205 tonight

other then a broken crossmember bolt in the adapter, everything looks great. hopefully i dont have to drill tap it, but just heat...

what id like to know is if i need to make driveshafts again.. already got the square made for the front... for the rear im considering finding a 1410 yoke/s

what do i need to find, a 1 ton 3+3?
