See how those 3 bolt holes in the triangle pattern are lower than the 4 for the Gen 3 motor, THAT is why these fit like OEM compared to the other trash out on the market. Just remember that you have to grind a little on the ribs on the block to get those to sit flush before bolting on the OEM mounts. Also if you happen to have the sbc mounts that have a triangle shape on the back of them then that will also need to be ground flush and it takes FOREVER to do with a 4" grinder. Some people have completely flat backed stock sbc mounts and some are lucky like me and have that triangle stamping in it.
Just food for thought and why isn't this done already
I did Notice that actually! Pretty sure my motor mount "cups" aren't flat backed style. Also pretty sure mine have those plates behind them that mount the portion strut things from the trans. Did you use those on yours?
Just went to the bank and picked up $1000!
Will need it for the big day tomorrow! Was really hoping to sell the tbi motor before now but no one has called on it. Guess my cl ad scared them away. Oh well. I'm thinkin I will build a little cart for it and stuff it in the shed. Anyway, I'm thinking I should have the motor in by the new year. We shall see...
Video! This was the first start. Dude was cool and knew what he was talking about. He was able to rattle off what color wires should be on the burb wires i needed to hook up just off memory. Also modified an LS1 wire harness for me so that i could mount the computer where it should be behind the glove box.
Ok finally got a sec to sit down and answer a couple questions! Had to do christmas shopping before the work week starts...
The reason i used the blazer instead of a pickup was the weather today. And it was a good thing cause it rained on the way home.
It is awesome!
Its an 02 with drive by cable.
Too bad that christmas is coming up cause it pretty much means the motor will sit in the back of the blazer until probably the 26th... However, i have the 23rd-2nd off so i should be able to get something done in that time. Really hoping to have the old motor out and the new one at least in its spot.
