Just using a 99 5.3 and 4l60e I had outta my wrecked truck.

Then I swapped out my shift lever with one from a 85 700r4

Then used my high dollar fender spreader to get the core support out alittle easier

Then I mangled my shift linkage pulling the engine out. Face palm moment

Motor out and ready to pull the factory wiring

All the factory TBI harness out of my harness

My stock harness trimmed down

Starting to stuff it all in

What did you do for engine mounts and fuel supply?

Seems like its moving along quite well. Congrats. :waytogo:

Thanks guys. For motor mounts I'm running some old dirty dingo ls swap mounts. I was gonna run them on my 6.0l 79 bonanza but they seem kinda weak for my liking. I get stupid offroad sometimes lol.

And for fuel I'm running a ls1 camaro in tank fuel pump, it's a walbro 255lp pump. It's like a 100 bucks thru summit I think.

I'm running a return style fuel system on this truck just because of how easy it is, everything's already there lol

My exhaust will be just some trailblazer SS manifolds, again just because it's easier than trying to find headers that clear everything.

I've already tuned the computer in my truck when the original was wrecked, deleted the VATS, rear 02, and a couple other things I don't remember lol. I'm an armature HPtuner owner, still trying to learn it all.

damn, you made that look easy! :eek1::thumb:

I didn't get much done today just fitting a battery tray in and roughly mounting the computer. Also got my core support in again

I'll prolly mount it alittle bit more solid than that lol

Well I just spent more time making my battery tray more solid using original parts so it looks factory than I did actually sitting the engine and trans in.

So for a factory look here's what I did, I took a 95 1500 battery tray, cut the bottom half of it off except for the top two fender bolt holes, then welded the support off a 79 battery tray to the bottom of the 95 after some trimming bending and multiple fitments.

So now I have a factory looking driver side battery tray that looks like it came out of a new body style Chevy.

Okay not much of an update just checking the fitment of the fan shroud and computer mount etc...

Idk if this will help anyone with their swap but that's how everything fits together. There's hundreds of different way to do this swap but I did mine trying to keep it as factory looking as possible.

Ok just a heads up for anyone wanting to smooth out their factory intake air tube. DON'T DO IT!!!. I've been grinding, filing, and sanding on mine just to get it to look alittle better and my arms are killing me.

Tomorrow I'm gonna fiberglass the holes up.

Wish me luck, I haven't fiberglassed anything in a couple years

Also thinking about running one of these on the hood. I have a buddy with a fire chicken with one on the hood and a buddy with a mustang with one so I figure what the heck, might as well fit in lol.

Thanks guys, I didn't get too much done today but I did go pick up my transmission to transfer case adapter. If anyone wants to do the swap its super easy with minimal wiring for a Ls swap. If your lucky like me and had a 91 K5 with a np241 in it the adapter part number it 15005474.

Here's a couple pics

As you can see the np241 is a 6 bolt bolt pattern and the transmission is a 6 bolt pattern. I think the adapter comes factory in late 90's trucks with a factory 4l60e np241 combo.

Here's my battery tray / computer mounting. Don't look at my welds to close. I'm welding with a really junky flux core welder with rusty flux core wire. They look like junk but do penetrate lol

Well here's my intake tube repair

The easiest way I found to fill the holes with something to build on is to just blow a balloon up inside of it.

And yea I got it pretty messy but I'd rather go overboard than skimp on it so what the heck lol

Well besides my intake tube drying I didn't get much done today.

I got my new trans to transfer case adapter in and my transfer case on.

One pointer Ill give. I wasent thinking and put my t case gasket on the adapter prior to putting the transfer case in. It'll work that way but it was the biggest pain. Defiantly put it on the transfer case, it'll be a thousand times easier lol

Ohh and I checked some wiring and bought a fuse block to run a few accessories and clean things up a bit.

All I need to do now is put my fuel pump in ( been dreading that) and order some trailblazer SS manifolds. And do an oil change.

Tach on the hood needs warm air to defrost. When they first became huge hits they didnt and the glass would fog up, most factories then added a rubber hose of some sort from the HVAC system under the hood and to the tach to keep it from fogging up and to melt the ice that accumulates on the pod.

And gauges on the hood look killer, I love my FP gauge out there.
