That 67 4wd is tuff! Looks to be all business. That is what a truck is supposed to look like. The 67 2wd probably isn't too bad of a buy. The appearance may make it a little tough to make money off, unless you get it to one color. That new K&N filter looks pretty used to me :-) However, I think the 67 2wd is in way too good of shape to just part out. That's a good foundation for someone to work with!

Well I ended up passing up the 2wd, puffed a little too much smoke at idle. Good news is I ended up buying a buddies truck that has a stout 400ci motor that is fully dressed out including a new quadrajet, Got a lot of goods off it, flowmasters, 3/4ton 44/14boltff, a ton of body parts for my brothers truck, and a brand new 4core radiator. I am going to clean up the motor and re-gasket it and take the aluminum in and bead blast it.

Well got it home, that was fun, didnt turn all that well. Turns out the previous owner did some draglink adjustment:crazy:, All is well though I got a new one for it already, Just picked up a really strong 400ci from a buddy that had to sell his truck, I also picked up a brand new 4core radiator, some 3/4ton running gear and some newer flowmaster 40s for it in the deal. I will be cleaning up the motor in the next couple days and re-gasketing it and making it pretty.
Also, can I take out the 67 gauge bezel and set it up like the one in my 72? with out the choke?

On with the pics

Cool!

I think the front of 67-8's are some of the best looking grills Chevy ever made. I like the small back window too, reminds me of the '56 Chevy my dad had when I was growing up.

Amazing what $12 worth of engine paint and a few cans of carb cleaner will do, Hopefully I can give this beauty a home before too long, I regasketed it found out the block was painted with hot lap on the inside and the rotating assembly is balanced with some nice looking aftermarket pistons as well

Very nice looking:bow:

Is there an advantage to running the ram horn exhaust vs the normal gm exhaust manifolds on a 350?
Thanks

Hmmm good to know. I really didn't want to do headers and those just seem to make sense. thanks for the info.

Man I really lucked out on that truck from my buddy, So far I have sold the axles and the exaust for $500 So I am into a built 400sbc all trimmed out a pair of flowmaster 40s and a set of Warn premium hubs for $200 I am hoping the snow melts enough to safely tow the truck to my buddies house to install the motor then take it to the exuast shop to have the exaust installed.

Well got a little free time and a clean garage, so I brought it over to my house and found a home for the 400, Looks to be in BAD need of a new harness, not only is it hacked, it is extremely brittle. I put in some Warn premium hubs and I got the beauty rings and caps on.

Any suggestions on AFFORDABLE wiring harnesses? I have a summit brand in my blazer and am really happy with it other than the fuse block, It has the mini fuses and the location of fuses is on the cover. Also, What do these plugs in the engine harness go to? The first one is in with the starter wiring and 2 green wires going to it, the other is attached to the drivers fender well.

The two green wires and plug looks like it's the backup light switch that connects at the bottom of the steering column.

Bottom pic looks like an alternator harness. If the old, external regulator is still bolted next to the driver headlight, it's probably connected to that.

Well after finding out I had 2 passenger side exhaust manifolds, I found a driver side one, got it installed bumped the motor over and stabbed in the dizzy, threw some new plugs in and some new wires, went to fire it up and crank, crank, boom, backfire through the carb and 2foot FLAMES!!!!! that didnt go right out!

I freaked out, ran around the garage and then outside to grab the hose, got the fire out and started to investigate, I had my brother in law put the carb on and he never tightened the fuel line, Gas was all over the manifold. I hosed it off good and took the air to it, Went to fire it up again and crank, crank, Pop FIRE!!! this time i was prepared and it was under the passenger side manifold. I got it out and called it a night.

I have also got a fresh coat of paint and did a little custom gauge bezel work and took about a pound of wire out from under the dash. No pics tonight but will have some tomorrow. Thank god the fire didnt cause any damage at all, just a really good scare!
