My '70 C/10 - The Rat Bastard... [Won't Idle.]

Why did you place the hood pins so close to the center line of the hood?

I like it.
It puts the lock pins in a good spot for working under the hood.

You won't even notice them, when they're painted.
Think of it like a painting.... It's not "done", till its "done".

Why did you place the hood pins so close to the center line of the hood?

I don't know why he even used them.
That hood is the smoothest and cleanest of the first gen trucks I ever saw.
I think he's just trying to delay getting it running.
He's just being himself I guess.
I was hoping that with him getting it I could dream of seeing it run in my lifetime.

Calm down ladies.

Chris is coming by tomoro, to help me drop the engine in.
Depending on the time, the trans may go in with it. :dunno:

Then, it's just Drivshafts, brakes, accessories, and startup.
Truth be told this woulda been done last week, but we went on vacation.

And, you have to have hood locks in my neighborhood. :deal:

As far as a steering wheel goes... my favorite is a 4 spoke wheel out of a 80s Z28 Same as a 70s SS Chevelle.. :thumb:

I hate most aftermarket wheels, not just yours...

Like I said, I have a perfect black 67-72 wheel here if you're interested.

I'm in no rush...your engine isn't in so I don't see you in a rush. Get it sorted and pm me when you're ready for it. My Blazer is gonna go, but I'd have removed the 67-72 wheel before selling anyways. Might as well go to good use.

pm me your addy and stuff.

Completely Random:

I got new glasses yesterday.
After 4 years and multiple fixes, my last pair was FUBAR.

I had to get my prescription renewed, since it had been so long... :doah:

Holy shiznit... I swear, I can read the back of a Bic Lighter, from 3 feet away.
And, jeezus is my head killing me.

It's like my first pair of glasses, all over again.
Crap for balance, everything is curved in appearance, and 90* angles, look about 80* to me.

I hate the "break in" period.

New nick name for ya...

Googley eyes mc beast?

Quick fix get a burrito covered in really hot sauce and chow down. After yours eyes quit watering and the sweat dries up it should bring you back to normal. Maybe?:haha:

You'd think so.... But... I went to LensCrafters, and they knew their sh*t. :D

The "stylist" picked out frames that hide the lens thickness,
And block the light from entering the lens, which is what magnifies the eye.

The doctor was like "whoa... You have bad eyesight." :eek1:
So they took a pic of my eyes, with that thing from the Men In Black movies.
Apparently, my eyeballs and optic nerves are PERFECT.
Couldn't be better.

Which means, apparently.... My brain is processing the information incorrectly.
Uh oh... She said I should see a doctor, and get a Cat-scan or whatever.

Sonuvab*tch...

Do you have astigmatism? The kind of altered perception of angles and stuff is caused by lenses with a bit of cylinder ground into them. Usually to correct astigmatism...

Anyhow...

NorCal_Chris came over and helped me drop the 402 in....
Super huge thanks to Chris! :D

But... The "new to me" Motor Mount Brackets I picked up, aren't SBC bracket's.
Apparently they're just another set of BBC brackets.
Dammit...

(You need to run SBC brackets, for DIY4X motor mounts to work. :doah:)

So... I need to order a set of SBC brackets, now...

At least the motor is under the hood. :waytogo:

I LOVE IT. :D

Now that the motor is under the hood, I can get rockin' on everything else.
Gotta find some SBC brackets.
Then, they go in, and the tranny, too.

Pulling apart the Q-Jet, tonight... If I have the time.

Anybody have a spare set of SBC engine mount towers, for a 67-72???
(The bracket the engine mount bolts to.)

I have the Uber-$$$ BBC towers, but need the SBC towers to run my DIY4X mounts.

How hard can those be to find my neighbour has got 3 trucks sitting on his yard 67/72

Feel like going for a drive!!?? :haha::haha:

They may not even be what I need.
I think I'm going to make 3/8" spacer plates.

That oughta get me where I need to be.

Might be a stupid question but here it is anyway.

Are those mounts are centered on the mounting flange? :dunno:
