*Coming from a guy that band-aid-fixed his whole electrical, before gutting it. :waytogo:

Mike said they were on a worked 454, previously.
And, the PO was happy-happy. :pimp:
Thanks man:thumb: Trying to unfork this rats nest would be pointless. The more I hunt for the current draw the more problems I find.

here's every detail on the Q-jet you will ever need to know...great write up.

True story... I lived it. :doah: :waytogo:
That's why I'm just gutting it all and replacing outright. :D

I'm Swapping in a later style hydro setup. :pimp:

Be sure to read both of these threads:

There are some gotchas if you mix and match parts wrong, and the info in those threads will help you avoid the :doah: moments.

Gonna toss Caddy calipers out back.
Need an adjustable Prop valve. :deal:

I have a set of (the large) Eldo calipers and an inline adjustable valve, if you're interested.

For the 12-bolt you might need the smaller calipers though, like Seville or something. Are you making your own brackets or buying them?

I was gonna put a setup from an 84 eldorado non vented disc small caliper 10 bolt five lug truck pattern

Just reminding myself that I want to swap the Oil Pressure, and Trans. Temp Guages. :waytogo:

What stall:dunno:

12" diameter, 2200-2400 stall.
Nothin' special....

It'll work with whatever the hell the "rebuilder" put in this motor,
And will allow me some wiggle room, when it comes to Cam's.

I originally wanted that Thumpr Cam, but I don't wanna sacrifice that low end power.
It is gonna be a street truck after all.

How's that 2500 stall?
What's yer cam situation?

On my motor it comes in around 2200 in reality. But it all depends on your motor.

I want more for the sand but it does good. I don't even notice on the road.

My cam is summits 1103 cam

You can always make up for torque with more downward pressure on the skinny pedal.

Has an overdrive tranny crossed your mind? I know you have had bad luck with them, but they can be built to exceed the need. And you would get the lower first, OD bonus for the street. I dunno your driving conditions, as I avoid Cali like the plague, but any open straight stretches are going to swallow gas with a BB like something I cant even put on this page.

I like the direction of this so far, that gen pickup is my second favorite to the round headlight late 70s style. Both are beautiful trucks though. Keep it up.

If you kick in at 2200, wouldn't you want "less" stall in yer case? :dunno:
Just can't wait to launch this sumbeach.

EDIT:I just realized you meant the stall converter, not the Cam... :doah:

Yea... I thought about it.
You could even say, "It's in the works."

I have two 700R's in my garage.
I'll take the good parts from both, and build up one good 700.
I'll also be installing a Monster Trans HD Kit, in that 700.

But, I have a FULLY decked-out TH400, built, in my garage already.
So, yea... Eventually I'll go OD.
For now, I'll be rocking my built TH400. :waytogo:

And, did you just attempt to preach MILEAGE in a BBC build thread? :haha:

Just wondering. I have nothing against the 400s, I run a built one in my Burb. But it winds the BB out at 60mph. I need to install my 4L80 and just be done with it. But laziness is a powerful motivator.

Might as well post the TH400 pics, here....
They were in the K5's build thread, but since its been repurposed.
