My '70 C/10 - The Rat Bastard... [Won't Idle.]

It's not the cost.
You get it the same day, no waiting

Well... Im done ordering things, now...

I just needed the B&M bracket, a few bolts, couple switches, fittings, and a Kickdown switch.
Stuff that local places didnt have. :dunno:

For a Speed Shop, Tognottis inventory sure does SUCK!! :haha:

With that shifter, you really wont need the kickdown. You will enjoy kicking it down yourself anyways. But, I know Lokar sells one for around 40$ if your needing or wanting one anyways. Realistically, your yards out there Im sure have dozens of the switches. Here, these trucks are becoming more scarce as the metal rusts and they squish them to make more KIAs.

You know.... I hadn't even considered manually kicking it down, all the time. :haha:

But, this makes it so my wife can (more easily) drive this truck. :D
I bought the B&M Kickdown Switch kit... $42 shipped.

Shifts correctly...

Also, an ebay seller just up and sent me this POW/MIA plate...
Weird.

So the stock one I have doesn't work?
I thought you had a list.

Okay, now im confused.... :haha:
I bought a new one, because its more dependable than just hoping an old one works.

At any rate, i have everything i need, except for the Trans cooler.
Ill be getting that from aaron, saturday.

Yea I ended up breaking mine and never got around to reinstalling a new one. I feel ya for wanting one though, especially the wife clause and all that. I had to teach mine how to operate the B@M finally. Now she just needs to learn when to shift and she will be golden.

My wife is incredibly quick to pick up that kinda stuff.
She learned how to shift a manual quad in about 5 minutes.

Funny this came up, actually.
Earlier, i was adjusting the shifter cable;
I made her shift it down to low, and back up to park.

She got it, right away...
Which is kind of upsetting, because i looked at it like alien technology, When i first shifted it... :haha:

Here she is, just unlocked, slammed it in Drive, then ratcheted it down.
Apparently, "ratchet shifter" made it all obvious to her.

Ahhhh, the days of cable adjustment, how I dont miss those. What took the longest time for me was adjusting it so it didnt click when it shifts into park when the engine is running. Very small fine tuning.

I havent ran mine yet, but the cable is dead on with the "settled" position in each gear.
Took me about 30 minutes to get it dead-on.

All this talk about wife/ gf figuring out how the shifter works, I will find out if my wife will be able to shift this on a TH400 reverse manual valve body with trans brake. :dunno:

real interested in seeing how well your carb works...

real interested in seeing how well your carb works...

It should work exactly like a factory 330hp/402 carb...
The only difference is the body of the carb., i.e., the front load fuel port.
And, the manual choke.... Which i hear is more dependable than remote coil choke.

Im looking for a 5.3 ( or 6.0) with a 4L80.....
Thats gonna be the final drivetrain combo.

Obviously, im gonna run the piss outta this 402, and have my fun, first.
But, i want a nice, fuel injected, overdrive truck, in the end.
And some... What do they call em? ... M-P-G's?.... :haha:

*To specify.... The Vortec swap, is not for a LONG time.

I'm down to the battery cables...

Aside from Bat-to-ground, and Bat-to-starter, What wires do i need?
Im trying to make this ONE trip.

Where does the Alternators Bat+ lug power come from?
Straight from the battery?
Is there a fusible link, or some such nonsense?

On that note, aside from the starter-to-harness main feed, what else gets a fusible link?

engine to ground
engine to frame
firewall to frame
core support to ground

The fusible link is a good question since I don't use one. I'd like to know more about that.
