Yea, the overflow is under the cap, by the battery.

How old is your msd box? I've had mine on with no problems in 14 years. I even switched from points to the hei stock and high output coil. Maybe newer ones are made different but maybe yours is just no good. Mine works fine with the standard crapsman cheapy timing gun.

Might make a simple rectangle shroud.
Then, bolt the factory fan shroud to it, to achieve full coverage.

Im currently running a factory 2-core aluminum radiator, from a 90's pickup.
So its a tad smaller than a 'big block' sized radiator.
Whenever i get the big block radiator, I'll get a big block fan shroud, too.
Then, i'll put a 3.8 fan into the "factory" big block shroud.
Theres a couple dudes on 67-72 that've done it.

I got the 13-month warranty, on the 3.0 fan.
With the intent of 'replacing if necessary.'
The reason I grabbed the 3.0 fan is, I read a thread were a guy on Arizona had one.
It was more than enough for summer time, with the lights and A/C on w/ a Big Block.
Seems good enough for me.
