Well, the cage build has started. Still need to do quite a bit of work on it. But, its a working progress so far. All of the seats will be mounted to the cage. I found a bitchen 3rd row Yukon Denali XL seat. The one with the built in shoulder harnesses and belts. It fits perfectly between the wheels and is in GREAT condition.

The fronts will be tied to the cage as well along with the Tuffy console. Sorry for the weak pics. The digital just doesn't like the florescents in my shop for some reason.

Looks good, so I take it you decided to keep it?

Everything has its price. And this one is going up. :D

Especially since I am fixing everything that was wrong with it. Mainly minor, but very tedious stuff.

I think I will keep it through the fall at least. Its going to be a camping and mild trail rig. We'll see how I like it after that. Its nothing against the rig. I love the 1st gen Blazers, its a lot bigger than what I am used to wheeling.

This cage has been a PITA. I wish I had a hard top to work with instead of the soft top. I sure as hell hope a hard top fits when its all said and done.

If you weren't so far north I might know of a hardtop you could borrow while making the cage up. Couple buddies of mine have 1st gens too.
Are you looking to buy a hardtop or just waiting for one to fall in your lap like the k5 did :D

Actually, if I can find a cheap hardtop(even double wall) I would be all over it.

I currently am trying to trade my STC top for a very good condition single wall top.

I'll do some checking around and see if I can find anything out ;)
The tops are out there but most have damaged rear gates around the latch asy. Double wall will definitely be harder to find but you never know.

There is a double wall in Loveland, but I would rather have a single wall top.

Looks good, you dont waste any time.

This is actually day three of this cage. Normally we can hammer one out in a day though. Today's work went really well. John and I were in the "Zone" today. The last two days were really frustrating for some reason. Today, we actually finished at 2pm, and then ran out of welding gas.

you could make bank on your STC top since they are out of business and people still really want them. Most people can't give away stock hard tops

man i'm really, really, digging that cage, i want 1 like it in my second gen...you shound bend up the pieces/notch them and sell that for us home welders to put together and weld up!!

Finally done with it. All the seats are now mounted, harness bars, and harnesses too.

This cage thoroughly kicked mine and John's ass. I could not have done it without him. He did a majority of the grunt work on it.

your cage is sick! I love it. I hope you dont mind, but i will deffinatly be using these pics to make mine. Wow.

The second pic in post 11, it looks like you have 2 crossbars in the very rear with the tailgate, but in the later pics, i see nothing there. Am i just seeing things?
