My 86 K5 build

Looking at you pics is KILLING me! Can't wait to run that trail again.
My bro trying to muscle it up the "Wale's Tail"
I hope you took the left line on the Whale's Tail... :deal:

Me on some other set up rocks
I've always called that the Double Whammy. Used to be the right side was the best shot. It's definitely gotten more dug out. One of my videos from 2007 shows a K5 doing just that, digging out the bottom of that obstacle. It's funny because he ends sliding left to right so it's like he's doing it on purpose. :doah:

No, I did not run the left line on Whale's Tail...that line is pretty gnarly. I think I have only seen one video of a pretty nasty jeep trying that line and he pretty much made it but got hung up on his rear diff at the top and winched the rest of the way. Even the middle line is a pretty good one.

Yeah, everything looks more dug up than what I have seen. And, that trail is a lot tighter than what pics lead it on to believe. A full size can make it without body damage (as I did), but you have to be on your toes pretty much the whole time....that's what I really liked about his trail

Nice pics, looks like a super fun trail. I also think the K5's look better with the top on, but it's a whole lotta fun topless.

I also thought that. Till I took mine off. Now I don't ever want it back on lol.

Well, my wife and both my boys fell asleep early tonight. And I found myself watching a really stupid TV show and I realized that I should be productive. So I went out and grooved all my TSL's :pimp:.

I purchased this tire groover. It worked really nice

This is how much rubber I cutoff :yikes:

And the final product

How long that take you?

I think we need a tire Groover. That looks really nice

They work really fast when you can put the tie out in the sun first. :D

love the truck, and the fact that your family wheels together is just super awesome...:waytogo:

Now that I have done it, I can see how that would help. Wish I would have thought about it in the morning and put the tires in the back yard all day while I was at work. But it still wasn't too bad.

Thanks. We have all been wheeling together ever since we could drive :D. I have one other brother who now lives in WA that has an 88 Jimmy that is tubed, and on Rockwells (here is his build thread on pirate4x4 for anyone who is interested http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/chevy/1105404-88-jimmy-hacked-up-tubed-rockwells.html). Hopefully he will move back one day and we can all wheel together again :thumb:

Lol your brother seems to like Chris :haha: (last three posts lol)

But sweet rig. Wish he had more detail on his bender modification

He was just having "one of those days" at that time. He vented to me for about 2 hours that night about web wheelers and how annoying forum sites are geting. It was a pretty comical 2 hours for me. But considering he has built his rig while going through (and graduating from) Medical school, and is now doing his residency in Pathology (while still building his rig)....I would say he has some room to tell other people to shove it :D. I at least waited to graduate with an Accounting degree and start my career before starting my build (and my older brother and dad are both Attorney's). We like to joke in our family that the only thing we are missing is a dentist, and then we would have all the major things covered :haha:.
