My 86 K5 build

If I get some more pics I will post them up, and we got a bunch of video too that my brother is working on compiling into a youtube vid. Once that is done I will post it up too.

Very nice setup man! Looks fanfockingtastic:bow::waytogo:

I really need to get out there to do this sometime:doah:

Nice.

Did you drive two trucks and trailers out there?

Thanks, it was freaking fun. It had been 10 yrs since I was in Moab, so it was like it was all brand new to me again

Yes. I drove my 1996 K2500 towing my rig out there (you can see that in a couple pics) and my brother drove his Semi towing his trailer and rig on it. His trailer had the tent trailer mounted on it and that is what we stayed in all week camping at Area BFE....it was freaking bad A!

Great pics!

Your K5 looks so good. :pimp: How about those Boggers? Like them? Are they a softer compound?

Great shots!!!

I saw trail ready post a pic of your rig in Facebook! Also cool!!

We wheeled with a guy on 43" SX Stickies, so it was interesting to feel how his felt compared to my boggers, and also my brothers boggers. You could tell mine were not quite as soft as the stickies, but softer than my brothers normal boggers. So somewhere in between.

Obviously Moab is not the ideal place for boggers. There were a couple places that having boggers hurt me to make it up obstacles, and mine took a couple trails to break the sidewalls in. I finally dropped the pressure to 5 psi and they started to flex well. Having the ground clearance was awesome. Overall, I am very happy with them so far. I think they will work well in a lot of different situations here in Colorado.

It was Trail Worthy that posted that. It was interesting/cool to see them take a pic of my rig. It was sitting outside the City Mart while I was waiting for my bro to roll into town. Wish I could of had a chance to talk to them for a while, but I was too busy enjoying the A/C in the store :D

My bro finally started getting some of the pics he had up, so here are a bunch more....and who doesn't like pics? :D

Me driving my bro's rig. It was interesting to see how his handled compared to mine

double whammy

And this is the exit out of Upper Helldorado. Just thought some people would like to see the comparison. I am 5' 8" tall, so that should give you a good judge. It's a legit obstacle for sure

That new body damage?

I see a couple bruises, did everything else work as it should?

Yeah, the scratch on the fender above the rear tire was on the Brittany Spears obstacle at Area BFE....it actually isn't that bad. It looks worse cause all the paint got scrapped off. The rear tail light got taken out on Pritchett Canyon. The light still works so I will just put a new lense on it. Other than the track bar thing on the first day, the truck ran and worked great. Once I get my track bar back on, and get new shocks all around, it should be even better

Lol my bad. You knew what I meant :haha:

That was Andy from TWF that took the pic. He and his wife were wheeling their Jeep there at the same time as you guys.

Sorry, I missed this one. My fronts are 14" travel Pro Comp 3000's, and the fronts are newer so they do better. The rears are the same shocks that were on it when I purchased the rig (cheap Pro Comp 4" lift shocks). They are really worn out and the way I have them mounted is not ideal...it was just something I did to keep it cheap when I was doing the 56" spring swap in the rear. It is time to change them up so they are more straight up and down and also get better shocks all the way around.

To cap a great week off, I won a set of DIY4x Tube Doors at the ORD Barbeque during the Blazer Bash raffle. The only thing that makes getting new parts better is when you get them for FREE!!! :D:pimp::woot:
