My 86 K5 build

Yeah, I may have him do the tranny work on the new dodge I'm picking up too...just depends on when/how I get it up here from CO.

The new house is in Emmett...I like that little town. We are excited to be there for sure
I have a good trans guy in Denver if you decide to fix it down here...

Sweet. I'm gonna be heading up your way August sometime to go camping with Josh and his family might just need to add in some time to stop by and say hello

For sure! Just let me know

I met with some of the jeep club guys here last night and it sounds like there are a bunch of guys with big ass tire rigs up your way. I guess there's a state run going on over there in the middle of june.

Yeah, I've met a few so far and have become FB friends with some to try and get linked in with some local guys. Some of the local events I've seen and I'm gonna try to attend most of them (as time permits)

I'll let you know for sure. It depends on how I can get the truck back here. If I can work it that we can put it on a trailer and haul it up here, I'll do the trans here. If I need it drivable to get it back here, I'll have the trans rebuilt in Denver. Thanks!

Got the pitbulls mounted on my h1's:

It feels a little weird going down in a tire size (boggers were 44's, these are 42's), but I must say, overall I feel like these tires will work a lot better on my rig and for the style of wheeling that I like to do. I think they still look real good on the truck!

Now I just have to get the titan box installed, probably kick my rear axle back an inch or so (titan box is just a tad longer than my 241 and my rear axle is in the stock location, so I can use the EZ inch in the rear to accomplish this easily), and swap out the front springs with the other set I have laying around (my current springs in the front are a bit flattened from many years of wheeling), and should be good to go for a while

The pitbulls look better IMO and like you said, they'll be better for what you do.

How tall did the boggers actually measure though? These measure true 42" right?

Yeah, will be weird to have side traction again, haha

Yeah, air'd up they are true 42's. Boggers were ~42.5 air'd up to 15 psi

I like the pitbull look better too.

:waytogo:

EEEWWW.....put the Boggers back on!!! :waytogo:

The boggers had the curb appeal like crazy with the ridiculous side lugs, but overall these will work about 85% better than the boggers in the rock (and I like rocks) :D

Tires look way better. Boggers belong in the mud, not rocks!

Can't argue with that

Got a little work done on the tcase setup. Got the SYE'd 241 out, and starting working on install of the Titan/205 combo.

First off I worked on making sure the shifters were working good. I have the adjustable detent balls from JB fab so it was nice to adjust those to where it felt like the 205 was shifting a bit smoother:

Then got to installing with my new HF tranny jack...though the job was still a handful by myself, this thing sure is a nice tool to have around

And bolted up to the tranny, along with my cross member/skid plate I built a few years ago bolted up too.

Looks like everything clears the skid plate and my exhaust just fine, which is nice. I still need to install the cable shifters, and then I need to modify my little shifter platform I have to mount the shifters themselves. I also need to build a rear 205 support, and kick my rear axle back an 1" or so with the EZ inches back there so I don't have to modify the driveshaft's at all. Then fill with fluids and see how it works

So I guess I can update a little bit on this thing...sorry, I'm not going to go back and relink all the pics in this thread, just way too much time to do that, but I guess I can keep it going with new pics linked straight to ck5.

To try and leave off from the last post, I got the Titan Box/205 installed in the truck. Then I got the shifters figured out. I ended up having to get NWF's single shifter that is designed for their titan box, and then got JB Fab's twin stick buggy shifter with a flush mount for the 205. I re-modified my existing platform I made a while ago that housed my tranny shifter and the old 241 cable shifter. Had to get a little creative with it, but I think it still turned out alright

I then moved my rear axle back 1.5" with my EZ inch I already had in the rear (this whole time I've had the rear axle in the stock location with the 56's and an EZ inch). Mainly did this cause the titan/205 was ~1" longer in total length from my SYE241...the rear stretch is not a big change, but with how far forward my front axle is, the overall stance is much better

I then added another support for the 205 with a pto mount kit from DIY4x along with a web gusset too

And then when I stretched the rear axle, it meant that the angles were off for my rear wrap bar and where it was connected to my cross-member/skid plat setup, so I had to make a new mount for that (added some web gussets to that too, cause why the heck not)

So my brother purchased a piece of property up here in Idaho (even though he just moved to CO for work...not sure why he still wanted to go through with it and purchase it, but eventually he thinks he might move up here and also he will come up here and visit quite a bit). But our eventual plan is to turn the property into an offroad park for dirt bikes, trucks, snow mobiles, or whatever we can think off. Roughly 250 acres just outside Horseshoe Bend, ID. So decided to take the blazer up there just to shake it's legs out with the new tcase setup and make sure thinks were good. Turned out my front d-shaft just needed some attention, but other than that, was all good

And the last thing I've done for the time being is get rid of the factory tail lights cause I was getting so sick of replacing lenses that I kept breaking (at my brothers property I broke another one, haha). Went to tractor supply and picked up some 16 ga. steel and some trailer LED lights, and this is what I got...think it turned out just fine

I entered into a local competition called Idaho Tuff Truck Challenge (ITTC) in Mountain Home, ID. Some may be familiar with it...there are YouTube vids of it if you care to look. My brother also entered and is driving up here to compete in it with me. The event is next weekend, so this weekend I'll be doing a full once-over on the whole rig to make sure things are good for that
