Installed a 4" Tuff Country lift today. Leafs front/blocks rear. I didn't get to finish everything today but got it enough to drive around the block. Tires are 35x15x15 TSL Bias on 15x10's.

From 10-25 mph this thing feels like its going to shake and vibrate itself apart. Do you think all of these issues combined is the culprit, these stupid tires, or other?

1. No rear shocks - didn't receive the correct shocks and didn't notice til the last 1 hour of the install lol. Picking up some cheap AutoZone jobs tomorrow morning until TopGunCustomz can get me the correct shocks.

2. Sway bar still connected on the front end. Everything lined up fine but it was kind of a tight fit.

3. Tires are unbalanced. Picked up the wheels and tires used and wanted to see how they rode before having them balanced + I wasn't sure if I could even use them b/c of the width.

4. No front stabilizer. I have the stab but I ran out of daylight today. Will be installing in the morning.

5. Other?

Thanks for any input! I love the thing, rough ride and all! Can't believe after 6 years of ownership I finally go to lift her up :)

i just figured it was fine prior.. lift... bad vibes.... pinion angle...

How are the ball joints and are the wheel bearings tight?
Checked all of those during install and all are fine.
it's gonna be your pinion angle...
I was afraid of that. To me thats the most PITA issue.
Miss matching air pressure in the tires always caused it for me. Also
Glad you brought that up. 3 of the tires are at 36.5 and the drivers rear is at 45. I had to have the 45psi one demounted and remounted and the tire store put 45 psi in. Anyone know the best pressure for these tires? Or does it just differ truck to truck?
ryoken I think he my have death wobble. :dunno:
My wife would agree as she was scared to death riding with me. :haha:

Its not undrivable by any means, but its definitely not a blast. More of a comfort thing unless something fails due to the rough ride - which is why I want it corrected.

Thanks for the help so far guys!! :woot:

is it eminating from the front of the truck, or more like a driveline issue?

Where do you feel it - in the whole truck or mostly the steering wheel?

Does the vibration change depending if you get on or off the throttle?

Do you have another set of tires and wheels you can swap on to see if it changes or goes away?

Feels like the front end shimmy's side to side and sometimes the shimmy turns into a "hop" almost. I slowed down immediately when the hop started and never got over 25 mph on my maiden voyage.

Rear end didn't really ever do anything odd in my opinion but I am definitely going to check my pinion angles.

About another set of wheels/tires - yes. I plan to run my 33" BFG AT's while I sandblast and paint these wagon wheels. I think that will tell me a lot, too.

A violent front end side to side shimmy = death wobble.

Start by adding the stabilizer, this may make it driveable. Next you may consider putting the old tire/wheels back on it to, again, make it even better as the Swampers are surely aggrivating the problem.

That said, you've got bad parts somewhere. There is no single, obvious fix for death wobble. You're going to have to check EVERYTHING on the front end including the steering box and frame and then start replacing the worn parts you find. I know you've checked it once already but trust me, something under there is bad.

pinion angle is my vote also.............gonna have to trim for sure, especially if disco the swaybar and wheel it......

Another thing, if you check again and find nothing wrong have the alignment looked at, specifically the caster angle. I just built a K5 from scratch so every part is l,iterally new but I had a decent case of DW. After some checking I found my caster to be way out, some shimming to rotate the axle back where it should be and my problem is 99% gone.

being a 10 bolt its probably not DW. I havent heard of it in the 10 bolt ever. Its probably the bias ply tires your feeling. they get out of round easy and can take awhile to smooth them selves out. I'd try the other tires first.

I had bad dw in a d44.

Dosnt matter what it is.... straight axle can have death wobble
