my 91 suburban build thead

im actually done with all the body work i just have been to lazy to post photos. only 400 more to go

Oh man, you would have been way ahead if you bought mine and transplanted your running gear in it.
I have a cherry 85 3/4 ton here with a bad engine.:o
It's funny how out here you would beg people to take a clean truck, and you guy go thru all that trouble and how much did you pay for your truck?

only 500 and its running really well, im in the chicago area and we are getting a ton of snow here and the 4wd is working well so im pretty pleased, and the rust repair gives me something to do.

Well I guess it's cheap enough, but how much is it costing you for repair patches?
I couldn;t get $2000 for mine and the guy that wanted it at $1500 ended up returning it saying he prefers a running truck.
Anyway working on getting mine running.
I did a similar project to yours before when I was in the middle east, because there weren't better candidates there, I even had to fab all the replacement pieces from sheetmetal using a break a torch and a hammer and dolly.:o
Now I take the easy way, buy a good body and replace the running gear.:bow:Easier.
Good luck with your project, you will definitely enjoy that truck once it's done, you are building a truck, really :haha:

in hind sight i really wish i would of bought one with a nice body becasue it took me like 250+ hours in like a 3 month period to complete and body work gets super frustrating after a while. and i only spent 500 on sheet metal so far... i will probably get a new tail gate, well not an actual new one but one of a different burb, the inside of mine is so sick looking

Wow, that is a lot of work you are doing there. Looking good so far. Our trucks have(had until I got rid of some of it) the same interior down to the overhead console.

yea i love the interior, its one of the reasons i bought the truck. its hard to find burbs with nice interiors

i looked at serveral burbs before I bought my 89 and I was looking for good running and good interior. So many I found, the interior was trashed. I complain about my excessive peeling paint, but I wouldn't trade it for that rust :(
