my 91 suburban build thead

Exactly. I just get nervous about mixing the thinner, reducer, paint, etc, And just what all i really need to buy. Thats all aside from the real "issues" of what grit paper to use from step one(before sealer) all the way threw wet sanding. So its one of those things where in reality its simple but can be a little overwhelming to remember all the specifics.
 
My only concern when I do a paint job is "have I rattled the can enough yet???".

that was silly. I picked up my primer today for the paint store. I guess they stopped carrying PPG primers but i pick up a gallon of this dupont epoxy primer which mixes 1:1 with the hardner so i actually have 2 gallons of primer to work with which should be more then plenty. It better be enough for the primer it was $100 and $70 for the hardner. It should only be a matter of days before i get it primed:D
 
What brand of paint are you going to use? I used to work for an autobody supplier that sold Sikkens and U-Tech. If you want to talk about expensive, how about $110/gallon for Autoclear III and $65/quart hardener. It was nothing for a walk-in customer to drop $600-700 for everything he/she needed to paint their rig.
 
im using dupont nason. I usually use PPG omni but my place no longer carries ppg stuff. I have never used dupont paint before but i guess its pretty comprable to PPG

Don't hate on teh hubcaps, they look great on a stock rig. Hell, i couldnt' part with mine, and sold the old wheels bare, and told the guy i lost the hubcaps. I lost them on the hooks on the wall in teh garage. :)
 
Oh My God

I'm glad my 'Burb came from Ogden,Utah and has spent most of its life in Texas. I don't think I could convince myself to commit to rust repair THAT extensive

Nice work

I have to say though, I much prefer blue over white. The sky blue color that GM used on some of these trucks looks GREAT to me. The next '89-91 Suburban I buy will either be black or the sky blue

There, fixed it for ya!

It looks good. I had a 1990 Blazer that had the same blue down the side and I really liked it. The Rally stripes are cool too. I forgot but are you going to lift your Burb at all? I think a 6" lift with 37's would rock.
