my 91 suburban build thead

ok thats really not funny(well maybe a lil bit). but to update the status of burb, last weekend i took the trans out and took it to the trans shop on monday and its suppose to be done by this wednesday. while its was down it was down did some more bodywork and finally got my tail gate to actually fit right and open which was a very long a tedious process but after milling the hinges enough it fit. ill throw some pictures up soon. I should be getting ready to complely strip it down for paint in a couple weeks which is exciting.

what color should i paint it?

im not sure if i wanna go two tone tho because i hate masking. I still probably will go two tone tho because it looks pretty boss. I like the original color but i was thinking like all white with red sides but im not sure yet

yeah, the 2-tone looks really good I'm gonna paint my 91 crewcab the same way as your burb but pearl white where the light blue is on yours Nice work on all the sheetmetal BTW

If you want to change the colors, I had a killer looking blazer black and orange.
It was pretty much black with an orange stripe on the side.

Isn't the interior blue? I'm too lazy to go back and look:doah:

I think silver with a med metalic blue tu-tone would look pretty cool.

i'd suggest light blue with a white linex'd top, but that would probably look like crap on yours because that's what i'm going to do with mine!:D:haha:

NEWS: Got the trans back from the trans shop. put it back in and it works wonderfully. Driving it the other day and the alternator seized up and i had to lip it home from 10 miles away with the belt off. I was tring to drive a little bit then pull over and let the engine cool. But that didnt really make a difference. all the pressure in the cooling system casue my old radiator to bust and leak coolant every where(thats kinda an exaggeration). So i had to get a new alternator and a new radiator. I also got a new job at ace hardware so i can actually do stuff to the burb again and pay off loans from the parrents woohooo.

I like the last pic where your'e drivin from the back seat. :D

Way to go on a rust bucket like that. Most folks, myself included, would've passed over that 'burb and looked for something else. But you stuck with it and it looks like you fixed it up really nice. 10 outta 10 for the effort you put in.

Nice! You really should do a write up type deal when you paint. I think it's something slot of guys here could do if we weren't affraid of it.

You should be working in a body shop or something.. kick ass. I love what you are doing, saving a Suburban brings a tear to my eye :D

Hey, I've got a couple 'burbs laying in the yard if you're interested.:doah: Oh, nevermind, you're about done.:haha:

and ill document the whole painting process for anyone who is interested. and people shouldnt be scared of painting. It is actually really easy if you know what you are doing and is quite gratifying.
