My Blazer is offically on ebay.

Wow, looks MUCH better. It doesn't even look like the same truck. The interior looks new!

Are you sure you want to sell it? I always hate to sell a car after I clean it up and realize how nice it is! :haha:

I'd leave the videos out, but those photos are great. I bet you will get top dollar.

Are you going to try it with a low starting bid (like $100) and no reserve?

Thanks! So here is my rough draft for a description what do you think?

Selling my 1979 Chevy Blazer. I bought the truck from the original owners son in law. I have had it for just over two years. I put 4,000 miles on it in those two years. Its an awesome truck in great shape but its time to send it down the road to make way for other toys. Clean clear Oregon title in my name.

BODY
The body is all but rust free. Very above average. The truck had undercoating applied by the dealer and it seems to have done its job. There is hardly and rust to be found on the truck. What little there is shouldn't even require any patching. Just sanding alone should fix it. The paint has seen better days but its ok for a driver. Ultimately it is in need of a paint job, but i get compliments on it just the way it is. There is a couple spots on the hood where it appears something dripped on it while it was driving down the road. Whatever it was trailed up the hood towards the rear and messing up the paint there. Otherwise the hood is flawless and not bent or kinked. Both the rear quarters had an issue where the upper piece of trim (which is double sideded taped on from the factory) had moved away from the body taking paint with it. I repaired the areas so as to stop any rust development. As such, it is noticeable where the repairs were made but i did the best i could to make it minimally noticeable. The rest of the body is very straight and very clean. Only very minor ding here and there.

INTERIOR
The interior matches the body. Very nice and above average but not without flaws. The driver and passenger seats have been swapped to minimize wear and tear on the driver seat and keep the original upholstery as nice as possible. The back seat is in great shape. The front carpet is original and in good condition. The rear carpet was replaced by the previous owner with some household style carpet. It was at least done very nicely. Also installed by the previous owner is the stereo and speakers. The front speakers were installed into the kick panels and the rears installed into the rear bed panels. The original radio was left in place and un touched and the new deck was installed into the center consol. It also has a sub-woofer in the cargo area. The stereo does sound really nice. The dash pad is in poor shape so a black dash cap was installed on top of it to make it better. Again installed by the previous owner is the after market oil pressure gauge to work around the defective stock unit. The door panels are in good shape. The electric windows work fairly well but could be gone through. They both roll up and down un assisted without issue, albeit a little on the slow side. The electric door locks function properly with the exception of the passenger side mechanism. The switch on the passenger side does work though. The rear window is a manual crank unit and works well. The tailgate itself also opens and closes perfectly.

DRIVETRAIN
Motor: The motor is a 350. I believe it to be original. It does run really well. Very quiet and smooth with good power. I did replace the valve stem seals and timing chain in it. Morning starts are good with a pump of the gas it fires right up and is good to go. Doesn't smoke or make noise. Does have a very small oil leak from the aforementioned after market oil pressure sending unit. Doesn't leak much. Just enough to put a drop on the exhaust occasionally that cant be smelled at times.
Trans: Transmission is a TH350 automatic. It works perfect and does not leak. Drops right into gear and doesn't slip. I believe it also to be the original but cant be 100% certain. Hits passing gear properly when overtaking slow traffic.
Front and rear end: They are in perfect shape. Brakes are in good shape with plenty of life left and stop the truck good. They are geared 3.42:1. Both have open differentials. The front end is tight as far as ball joints/tie rod ends etc. All the u-joints are in good shape as well.

The truck is really great. I have driven it to the beach a couple times and to the mountain on several occasions as well as many other destinations. Every time it provided a fun trip with no issues.

As far as payment and shipping are concerned, I can deliver the truck up to 40 miles away free of charge. After that will be $1.00 a mile up to 150 miles. After that the buyer is responsible for making shipping arrangements but i will do whatever i can to facilitate that. A non refundable down payment of $300 is required within 8 hours of auction close via paypal. Remainder of balance due in full within 48 hours of auction close via wire tranfer or cashiers check. We can work out details if need be.

I dont know about the no reserve thing... Its just that if i do that and it doesnt make it to my bottom dollar i have to end the auction early and still have to pay for the "successful listing" fee.

Well I am assuming you started it at your lowest you would go, but if this doesn't work out, Put it with no reserve, and if it doesn't get going I will jump in a bid it up to mid $2k, and if I end up with it, I wouldn't be unhappy, but it probably would create a bidding war and would get you higher than this.:dunno:

Ha! Thats not a bad idea! Im sure it would make it to Sacramento no problem! I was impressed today as i was driving it around how well it really does run and drive. And honestly, im trying not to be greedy. What im trying to do it get what it would take to make me sell it. If someone gave me that price, i would sell it. The bottom dollar on it for me is $3250. But i figured for $2.00 for the listing, i might as well and try to at least get enough above my bottom dollar to pay for the fees and the likely hassle of shipping it.

Oh boy! Now I'm getting nervous! Now all I'm concernes about is a smooth transaction! :bitingnaila:

Still just the one bid. Fine with me. I just really hope the dude comes through and isnt a dead beat buyer.

You have 6 days left..
The only thing I would be concerned with is that he is a newbie with only 6 feedbacks. When was his last purchase? Any bad feedbacks? You never know. You have to start somewhere, right?

All I can tell you is to follow the eBay rules TO THE LETTER. Make sure all emails and transactions are handled within the eBay system. Take an hour and go read all of it.

Do NOT accept a non-major bank cashiers check UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. For example, you can accept Wells Fargo, BofA, Chase, Wachovia, etc., but only if you can go to a local branch and cash it. Do NOT deposit it in your account. Do not accept postal money orders. Do not accept any check that is not for the exact same amount of the deal. Run like crazy if the buyer asks you to refund him any money.

You should also get a copy of his ID as part of the transaction. Have him photograph it and email it to you, scan it, whatever.

Do a bill of sale that is complete and binding.

Report the sale to your local DMV.

And never under-report the sale price of the vehicle.

Thanks man! I have read a good bit of the ebay rules. But not all of them. I think i will do that tonight at work if i have any time. None the less i will read all of it by the time the auction closes.

Oh yeah, also do not sell it to anyone who claims to live outside the USA. Anyone over seas is a scammer.

If they mention "my agent" or someone like that is going to be handling it, scam.

Basically, stick to your deposit and payment terms 100%. If you offer to let them have extra time to get payment, it may be a scam - or at least a waste of your time. Collect the deposit, then give them 7 days to pay (like you said) otherwise keep the deposit and relist it!

Well it looks like it sold for $3800! Works for me! Hopefully the deal goes smooth and the guy is cool.

I would have thought it would have sold for me. oh well 3800 not a bad price.

gives me hope that when I get all mine done they actually might be worth some decent coin

I love that thing hope it goes to a good home

Well at least it sold for more than your bottom $$$ of $3200.
Has the guy contacted you at all throughout the bidding? How about after?

What's your EBAY fees going to be?

Guy contacted me after i contacted him during the auction when i asked if he planned on shipping it. And he got back to me when i sent him a message saying he won and stuff. He said we would be talking tomorrow to work out the details. We'll see how it goes. Im not considering it sold until there is cash in my hand.
