My bobbed Suburban hatchback build.

That kind of reminds me of the Ultimate Adventure that they do in 4-Wheel and Off-Road magazine. I've always thought it would be cool to do something like that. Hey you and your wife should apply to go on that trip. I'm sure you would do good with either one of your rigs. Or both. They've had plenty of husband/wife teams but I doubt they've ever had each spouse bring their own vehicle. You could be looking at some $$$ though. :eek1:

Thought about it...

Stephen (ORD), and Pat Gramillion (Premier Power welder) both said the same thing when we stopped in at their shops last year with the 2 trucks.

The run to Moab last year was an expensive one, and this year we are doing Blazer Bash, so it's just not in the budget for the near future.
It would be a very cool run though!!!

The recent run at the Dunes in Michigan with Adam, Craig, Nate, Dave and some other cool K5ers was a blast!

It would be great as a yearly thing!

Some pics from the Dunes run in Michigan with CK5 members

Convoy of trucks headed to the dunes!

2nd one is the gathering spot as close to the lake as we could get at this time of the day, on day #1.

Some of these shots may also be in Adam's thread

Figured I may as well get some posted on my own for future reference

One of the CK5 group having mysterious Trans. trouble....with Dave trying to help figure it out.

Dave (Zimmer)'s "Maiden"!!!
What an impressive beast!

The extraction of a stranger.

A park official requested assistance to extract a stock Suburban from a bad spot.

I volunteered to try and help and had lots of assistance from other members!

More extraction.

It was a joint effort to get it out safely and from what I was told we "disappointed" the ranger by not providing more excitement at the expense of this poor guys ride.:dunno:

Small group just after "test hill"

It was difficult to get everyone together at the actual dunes on day one.

Everybody was off driving around enjoying the sand!

One of the cleanest Rigs in attendance!!!

Blue85 has a very nice machine.
One of my favorite rigs in attendance!:waytogo:

Day 2 at the dunes.

The standard trans rigs had more of a challenge time on the loose sand hills.

Kelly ran into some minor electrical trouble with her cooling fans on this climb and repairs were made at the bottom of the hill.
Didn't get shots of it but it is soo cool to lift the hood and suddenly have 4 other CK5 rigs show up to help without a word.:bow::bow:

Rich in the CUCV was relentless and patient!
We went out just the 2 trucks and had a great time!
I think this would make a good Calendar shot..

More pics from Rich an I touring the dunes.

This was where I stopped after climbing test hill in 2 wheel drive (by mistake)!

The Burb got so hot it started a fire underneath that Craig and I put out with the sand....:eek1::waytogo:
The exhaust got so hot it caused the adhesive on the stick on heat shield to melt!

Rich pulled up just after the panic was over.

Next year this line should be 2 rows deep...

That would be cool!
Need to park where we can photo from on a hill to get all the trucks if that ends up being the case.:D

Kelly's regular parking spot at Craigs.

set up at night and pack up in the morning.

The nickname for the rooftop tent as the "Stabin Cabin" seemed to stick.:D
We heard the term numerous times during the weekend.

It was very convenient!

Thanks again for putting us up Craig!

More at "home base"

No shortage of room to park.

Blazer cap options....:haha:
Full cap, No cap, and Bobbed Burb cap on a sweatyblazers rig :dunno::haha:

Looks like an awesome time! There's got to be some calendar pics in there somewhere too.
