So my brother just bought a truck. It is a 1990 Chevy 1500 4x4. We got it for a steal, we know the guy who had it and he needed the cash. What we are wondering is, is there anything we need to know about these trucks that are not necessarily seen in everyday driving? Its got a 350, fuel injected, with 171,000 on it. We already replaced the fuel lines, gas tank, and got a new rear bumper. Anything else we should be on the look out for? We are also about to replace the cab corners...

They're pretty reliable trucks. Keep it tuned up and maintained and you're good to go.

You've already done the rotted gas tank and lines, keep an eye on the brake lines.
Auto trans will need a rebuild someday if not done already.
Ball joints and tie rod ends are common as well as the idler arm.
Nothing abnormal, just common wear and tear items.

Thats what we hoped haha. I'm just not familiar with it because the newest truck we have is my 91 K5, except for my dads Ford diesel. So just looking for some info, thanks a lot much appreciated.
