Picked up an 88 K5 Little over a year ago, With plans for a Future Build, Well the Future is now. Sold My 06 Yamaha YZ 450f last month to fund the build. So i had a starting Budget of 3600 Bones.

Pic of when i first got it. Payed 1500 bucks had a New GM crate TBI 350/4speed/208,

The Driver seat was really broken down So i got a set of

I put about 1k miles on it n the fuel pump went out so 6 months later i put one in. So this thing has sat for most of the time i have owned it.
So with summer coming up i figured i better throw a rig together to take the family wheelin.
I pulled the tons out of my old 4x4 along with the crossover n started ordering parts.

So im startin with a set of tons and a bone stock k5.
The parts list so far.
42" Irocs on Hummer Beadlocks Used 95% tread thanks to a guy on Pirate
5.38 Gears From PORC
Sparton D60 Locker PORC
PSC Hydro assist Thanks to MNORBY
Shackle Flip From DIY4X
Front Axle Shackle Hangers From DIY4X
35 Spline Flanges for the 60
56" Rear Springs
52" front springs
5150 Bilstiens 14" for the front
Reusing my Procomp 15" rear shocks
The 14b already has Disk Brakes.

Plans also include a New th400 and another Doubler. as soon as Funds alow.
Going to Build a Cage and Bumpers I have a 12500 Tmax Winch for the Front.
35 Spline stubs as soon as i have more funds.
Going to do a center drop Brake line Front and rear, all Stainless Braided, No Rubber Here.
Going for a Simple, Solid, Capable Rig

Looks like a solid list of parts. Subscribed. Lets see the pics of it all hotrod style jacked up in the rear!
 
Started By Stripping the 14B and welding up the Tubes
all wrapped up to Cool

Then Installed the Gears Here is the Contact pattern I went with

Then Loaded up the k5 on the trailer and backed it in the shop
THe old 52s were weak and sagged really bad. also leaned to the drivers side quite a bit.

Installed the Shackle Flip, 56s and the 14b. Put some of my 285s with som blingin wheels on it for now.
Axle now 4"s farther back.

The plan for this week is to get the 60 torn down, regeared, hydro on, and ready to install.

Going to get started on the 60 tonight, get it stripped down to just the housing and gears then take it over to a friends shop. Polly regear it first of the week
 
Ah man!! I loved your truck!!!! why the change to the blazer??
 
Got the 60 re geared today its all cleaned up now I need to put it back together and get it put in.
 
The 60 is Going in tomorrow. got it regeared the locker is in tabs for the cylinder are welded on, and i will put the hubbs back on after its in the blazer, should be a busy weekend!

Got the front end stripped tonight, suspension all out inner fenders bumper n steering box all out. Moved the front spring hangers forward and installed the DIY shackle hanger. got the springs hanging there just need to get some 9/16 bolts tomorrow n it will be ready for the 60.
Oh yeah i Ditched the aluminum rock sliders also.

Got the 60 in, now has a 113" WB Going to order my 35 spline stubbs this week, and Brake lines, Going to do center drop stainless braided brake lines, will be NO rubber lines on this rig.

Are you going to cut the body off at the blue/silver line? would be a nice clean cut!
