Picked up some more parts this week.
Scored a th400/205 For Free:waytogo:

also picked up the new ORD Doubler and ORD Triple stick.
The 203/205 was built and never ran or ran very little. its a long story but anyway it has been sitting under a workbench for quite a while and now its mine 800 bones later. but that baraly covers the cost of the adapter
not including the shifters cases and time. i think it was a good score.:woot:

I still think it is too bad about down grading from an SM465 to a TH400.

Martin

Man I drive truck, shifting gears all day every day the last thing I want to do is shift gears in the toy too.
Besides the 465 is like a sloppy loose whore the gears are 5 miles apart and its just an old hunk of heavy ****!
If I were to run a manual I would go with a short throw.4500 or a 5600 the 465 is a boat anker imo

All the late model SM465's I have/have driven, seem very tight, compared to the old sloppy ones I have/have driven.

I guess we are just going to have to agree to disagree.

Martin

I had forgot that already has a rear flange too. Be easy to put a CV rear shaft or do a 1480 flanged shaft like my spares.

I have one of each (465 and th400) in my rigs. They both have their ups and downs. Stop and go traffic, drinking my morning coffee- th400 wins hands down. Going over the pass with a trailer the temp gage on the ol th400 starts a climbing. Overheated one on the pass a couple years ago. Blew ATF out the dipstick all over the hot engine. However, I topped it back off and it kept on chugging for months after that. So I'd say the th400 is now slouch

The compound low and bruit strength of the 465 are nice, but I'd swap out 5 autos before doing a clutch on one of those pigs. Once the clutch is done, you can petty much forget about it.

Anyways, nice build man :thumb:

You big pansie! It's all in the whole setup just like an automatic. A bad stall convertor can be a mood killer :D
Looks good though, can't wait to go
