My build thread of my 6inch lift!! UPDATE 9/28 Got Tires w/PICS!

Ok picked up my truck today:D . It looks like they did a good job on the new drive shaft, espically for $285. I`ll post pic`s of it up in a bit. I have a small grinding noise coming from the transfer case from the drive shaft angel:( , but hopefullt when i lower the transfer case an inch it will fix that.

Im going in the morning to discount to order my tires.:D

Heres what i didnt like. They didnt adjust my drag link like i told them to. After they put the new steering arm on. It would turn way right but not left:mad: . They gave me back $5 from my total bill(like that makes a big difference). Then on top of that they didnt even lock up my truck last night and left it out in the parking lot. Good thing i picked it up early.

Went and order my tires this morning. $1300. They should be in no later than monday:D . Got the road hazzard warrenty on them. So if i get a nail in them or tear in them wheeling they will replace it:D .

the ginding you here sounds like the stops on the driveshaft need ground for clearance. can you post pics of all your driveshaft angles? i would suggest against dropping your t-case, it will make the front angle worse.

i have a 6" lift and have a 1" xcase drop. mine does not vibrate until high speeds and here is where it gets weird. i can accelerate to 70-80 on highway (kinda fast anyway), then when i let off, the xcase whines like a biotch. as soon as i accelerate some more, the whine goes away. I spoke with robert from down east offroad in wilson,nc and he said that is a common problem with that lift and xcase drop combo. however, he said no one has had any problems from it. hopefully that doesnt scare you

its just ujoint noises. your rear pinion is pointed up now because of your tapered blocks and that ujoint is not moving, its just there transmitting torque. the top one however is doing all the moving at around a 20* angle. when you let off the gas it loses load and will vibrate because the pinion ujoint is not countering the vibe. if you want to get rid of that you need a CV shaft where the two cv ujoints balance each other out. if it never did it before the lift you shouldnt have a problem but i would replace that ujoint and get a fresh start, with regular grease i bet youll be fine.

Got my Tires to day.

I fixed my ujiont problem by lowering the transfer case but ran into another problem.

The drive shaft is to long. Im going to take it back to the drive shaft shop to get them to shorten it. I told him not to make it to long cause i was going to lower the transfer case. So will see if i can get it done for free.

nice lookin rig now man, and definatley get that shaft taken care of. did you tell him a measurement or did they take them? but dont lower the tc if you dont have to. and it looks like you dont.

did you tell him a measurement or did they take them?
I took the truck to them and they took the measurments but the TC wasnt lowered. I told them that i was going to lower it. So they should fix it for free I hope. If not I think its $20 bucks.

looks like it already is lowered, look on the right side of the pic
Yeah I lowered it. It was making a draging noise when there was no load on the driveshaft because of the drive angel.

So now I cant test out the new suspention and tires untill I get it fixed.:(

And thanks for the complaments guys. In about 2 years I'm going to get it repainted and the whole interior redone and make it a show truck.

I hope in 2 to 4 years to have everything replaced or rebuilt. except the drivetrain just finished that.

make it look like this??

Lol thats almost what I want it to look like but black. The only thing i dont like on that one is it has to much gap between the tire and fender and the side molding. Plus I love my 85 grill.
