Then installed some 2x3 steel.

Then I rebuilt the floor.

This is where I ended for the day, got the rear part of the floor done. Just need to cut all the rusty parts out of the front and put new metal in.

Well I put the hood on and drove it out of the garage to see what it all looked like.

The rear sits a bit lower then the front. Ill have to address that later. The hood isnt perfect, well none of the body work is but its a trail truck, so one side has a 1/2 gap. I think it has more to do with the hinges and how old they are. Now to put it all back together.

Looks bitchen man, i like the two tone. :thumb:
The rear bedsides are welded solid and mounted for good?
Yup, and now your sportin a doubler, its gonna rock at blazerfest.

Na the bedsides are bolted on. But real men wheel with thier body intact.

Last full day to work on the rig till BF for me. All I got done was the floor. :uh oh: Altho I dont have much left. Anyways I started out with a shelf from a work van. Cut it up a bit and made it all bolt in. Its in 2 main pieces with one smaller one in the passanger side so that I can get to the shifters. Which is a good thing since I need to revisit the shifters. The 1/4 all thread needs a beefing up. Yesterday I spent the whole day wiring the truck and getting everything working. I have tail lights, head lights, fan, line lock is hooked up but not sure its working.

pside agian, the piece that ramps down to the floor is the smaller removable one.

Dash, still need to toss the radio back in.

I never thought my erector set would come in handy to mount gauges. Now if I could find the rest of the erector set. I prob used it on something else.

On a side note, My trailer doesnt like me. I hurt my shoulder trying to move it and hook it back up to my truck. Then I fell through one of the boards.

Thanks it will be even better once Im able to wheel it. The th400 decided it didnt want to live anymore so it has left the rig for a new home and is being replaced with a 465. Would like to have it moving by t-day but well see.

YAY! Progress.

Almost flat. The crossmembers will prob hang down a bit farther tho.
DSCN2352.JPG

And a shot inside and why I cant go up much farther.

My take on the 205 isolator/torque mount. The bar that goes between the frame rails is also going to be the rear of the doubler mount.

OK got everything painted up and installed for the final time I hope.

Even got a skid plate fabbed up and mounted. I have issues with the rear most bolts, the thread got messed up so they are not as tight as I would like so I might drill all the way through and put a nut on the other side.
DSCN2362.JPG

My custom air brushing that I did so the skid looks like its been used.
DSCN2363.JPG

From the side. Not flat, but Im happy with it.

OK, seriously... I had a moment there looking at your skid plate. That is a thing of beauty. I am so totally going to copy that and tell all my friends it was my idea.

Ok really, It looks great.

I do have one question though. Why did you decide to go away from the Blazer body? I keep thinking that the Blazer will give me more continuous inside space than a cab and bed would. Of course narrowing a Blazer may be harder than narrowing some bedsides. Is that why you went truck instead of K5?

Also, Did you have to move the front mount to install the 63's on the rear and did it move your axle forward or back?

Mainly for 3 reasons.
1. I broke the windshield of the 79 blazer body.
2. I like the looks of these trucks/blazers better. Truck is cheaper.
3. Its now pre Smog.
