My compressor pump top is scalding hot after 30 seconds

Finally got evertyhing hooked up and going, wiring, custom built pulley guard, installed tank drain and regulator/filter. Ran it for a few mins last night and it wasn't building pressure, it had been sitting for a few months and got very hot by the intake to secondary, the top in general. Figured out my tank guage is broken, cuz I had pressure at regulator. Should it get so hot so fast?

Oilless? Pulley moving air?
