Ok,
Vehicle:'98 Escort wagon, 1.9L powerplant, auto, 83000 miles, new plugs and wires, fuel filter replaced about 5000 miles ago, usual maintainence performed on time...

Problem: When I'm sitting at stop lights, the car idles very low, so low that it's very rough and it feels like I'm sitting in a massage chair. When I shift into neutral, the idle obviously goes up and it's a little smoother but still rougher than it should be. Sometimes it gets so bad that I have to give it some throttle so the damn thing won't die.

Solutions: Is it the fuel injectors?? They're the stock ones. I also kinda thought it might be the motor mounts but I doubt that one. I know the air filter needs replacing so we'll see if that helps. Any other suggestions??? Oh, yeah I've tried a few tanks of 91 octane with the same results...Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

replace the IAC, and bump up the base idle some.. iac is 2 bolts, 10mm i believe, and one connector on the throttle body, and you bump up the idle by turning the screw that the throttle stops against with vice grips.. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I assume IAC is idle air control??? /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif
