My good bye 1 tons REbuild

call. I talked to Randy today. he told me $475 per corner for the hubs. then you need all the brake components. he said he is working on a new setup that should run around $600 a corner for the brakes.

absolutly my buddy is haveing the same situations with his rock right now...chas why would you just run pinion brake???mabye so you didnt have to buy new wheels and tires???

Hey guys thanks for the compliments

Randy is the rockwell pimp of the nation, he's great to talk to, knows his stuff and sells AWSOME products.

I'm going to piece together my own brake setup. Right now I'm going to use GM 60 rotors, corvette calipers for the front and 1/2 ton front calipers on the rear. That a way it keeps my breaks similar to my old set up, I could LOCK UP all 4 42's on the pavement. So hopfully it stays about the same or gets better.

As for the U bolt question, I have always had problems with u bolts and wanted to try something different. I'll have nothing hanging below the housings, and u bolts hang down however thick they are.

My old axles funded this project, they found a new home last week.

You also get a choice of hub's or flange's right?

Make sure you do alot of measuring and write down the part's list for the brake's you are going to do. If I just have to buy the hub's and can do the brake's myself it would save me alot. Thank's alot man .

Dude I don't know if you can get hubs, I just assumed flanges only, If you want answers call Randy. You will not regret the phone call.

I'll definatly keep you guys posted on the brakes.

Yeah they are found under any 2 1/2 ton military truck.

Great build!! looking forward to see your brake setup as well.

Is that full Hydro steering?

How you gonna do the U-bolts on those? Are you gonna run them around the axles and springs, or just from the plates to the springs? Are the welds from the plates onto the axle strong enough? (Looks like 1/2" plate, so I'm thinking yes, but still seems like a LOT of stress.)

very cool, I know of a military junk yard back home. I think i'll stop by now, when I move back out there.

DUDE you suck!!! I got my rocks first your not supposed to just jump in and beat me to it! I think that I am gonna hold out and save up for the super hubs, full hydro, and all the goodies. I figure just do it right the first time. But I wont be adding rear stear unless I find someone willing to trade me my rear for a front. Where did the hydro assist rams come from? They look like TSC ones. Send me email at [email protected] so that I have your email address. I would like to talk to you some more about this swap or maybe even come down and give you a hand wrecnhing on the truck and get some more ideas for mine.

Ok They are not hydro assist ram's they are full hydro ram's. On rock's Normal steering is kinda hard to do , and I don't think really worth it. They look like 2" Bore 8" Stroke Implement ram's, maybe 2.5" Bore 8" Stroke.
