I've got about $25 in this with buying all new stuff. I just did this today so I haven't used it at the trail, but it works like a charm in the parking lot! haha
Anyways, on with the pics!
Here you can see that I used a old school road bike friction gear shifter. It was cheap, small and I can adjust the tension on it to allow for momentary manipulation of the throttle as well as a "set it and forget it" mode where the shifter will hold its position.
From the other side
Under the hood. Here you can see where the bicycle cable meets with a #10 ball chain. I was going to use cable all the way, but I was worried about binding/tangling when the hand throttle cable goes slack as the gas pedal is depressed during normal operation. I think it looks cleaner than any of the ideas I had for a cable-only install as well.
I drilled the throttle cable bracket and put this bicycle brake cable adjuster through it.You can see that for now all I've got holding the chain to the cable is a couple zip ties, but a trip to the hardware store will change that.
I love Blazers.
