I've got about $25 in this with buying all new stuff. I just did this today so I haven't used it at the trail, but it works like a charm in the parking lot! haha

Anyways, on with the pics!

Here you can see that I used a old school road bike friction gear shifter. It was cheap, small and I can adjust the tension on it to allow for momentary manipulation of the throttle as well as a "set it and forget it" mode where the shifter will hold its position.

Under the hood. Here you can see where the bicycle cable meets with a #10 ball chain. I was going to use cable all the way, but I was worried about binding/tangling when the hand throttle cable goes slack as the gas pedal is depressed during normal operation. I think it looks cleaner than any of the ideas I had for a cable-only install as well.

I drilled the throttle cable bracket and put this bicycle brake cable adjuster through it.You can see that for now all I've got holding the chain to the cable is a couple zip ties, but a trip to the hardware store will change that.

:D I love Blazers.

the older chevy trucks could have them optionally, but the knob was in the dash. very good place to put it on the shifter, should be very handy.

I got mine in about the same place. I have cable all the way to the carburetor linkage, but I like what you did with the ball cable. This past weekend, there were three of us that went off roading that had hand throttles. One had his engine run away, because his stuck open, the other guy had problems with his sticking, and mine worked just fine. I guess I got lucky, but you had a good idea there. I loved mine off road, and I also enjoy it just driving around, I use it to down shift all the time.

I can see how it might run away. I think I may add a throttle return spring to allow the throttle to snap back closed a little more quickly.

That's a clean install. I've been wanting to add a hand throttle for a while now just for my OBA so i can bump up the idle speedo so the compressor puts out more air. I was going to make mine work off of vacuum though kinda like the cruise control, i might be able to tie into the same cruise vacuum pot and only need to add a vaccum hose and a valve/switch.
