my holley sniper story from the start --- UPDATE : the story END'S NOW !

well aspr holley tech and another guy helping me privatly from another forum we are still no place better .

dump and reload firmwere = same crap results .
restart unit from scratch and new wizard setup = same crap results .
drive and data log = almost didnt make it with saving the log as it started in on its screen again going bonkers .
fired up to drive it no sd card as told to try by both guys and cant even get it out of park cause the screen is now even more crazy :rotfl::doah::haha::surepal::dunno:

so far today almost 5hr's with this crap . i am ready to install a fuel pressure regulator and a edelbrock 1406 carb on this pig .

i hear ya ,get my exhaust parts and my handheld goes white can't check anything and there supposed to send me a new on if this thing craps out will put carb on it and go on...........

update email from holley tech dept :

After watching the videos you provided I would recommend to send the handheld in to my attention to be inspected. It appears to be an issue with the handheld itself. If you would please ship the handheld to us .

looks like all my hard work / time spent / bull crap i went threw has maybe paid off . . . .

I was debating about disconnecting the handheld once it's all setup. I was thinking maybe it's better not to obsess over all the details I mean any other vehicle doesn't tell you TPS, IAC, AFR, etc. Assuming it seems to be running good.

It would be nice if you lived near someone else with a Sniper because you could try swapping handhelds.

I'm sorry you are having trouble with this system. I have a tried and replaced several aftermarket efi systems over the years, each time swearing I'll not do it again. Hopefully the aftermarket will reach a parity with factory reliability at some point in the near future.

some more new info from the holley tech forum .

looks like lots of guys having problems with emi / rfi feedback on the system from dirty 12 volt key hot/crank feed point . the fix for this a few guys have done is key hot/crank feed to relay trigger . then stright batt conection feeding the relay and out to the 12 volt power feed line to the sniper so there is no feedback dirty signal power . seems stupid but 1 guy has done 6+ install jobs and to verify it he did not do a relay on #4 and #5 and had problems so he added a relay and no more problems.

seems holley did NOT do there job on design and testing of these units . .

Fast EFI is very clear you need clean power.

sniper is stalling out on me and i have no way to data log it or see what going on with my controller out for service . :flipoff1:

I'd be too chicken to drive mine without the handheld. Do you have fuel pressure gauge?

I need one of them. Actually I have one; I need to get it installed.
