I don't post much on here but I sure so soak up a lot of information from here. Just want to say thank you for all the information. It made my project pretty easy. Anyhow here is my build:
1988 Jimmy K5, I took it in on trade. It ran really rough, has a little rust and is missing the interior. It did come with 6" lift springs and 4 bald (2 of them flat) tires. I found a set of used (probably 30% left) swampers on aluminum wheels on CL for cheap. I also grabbed a new set of shocks from ORD. I went and grabbed some junkyard seats and belts and installed them.

I just happened to have a 5.3l out of a '02 Tahoe I acquired in previous trading that I was looking to put in something. Decided this was a good candidate. It's mostly for chits and grins. I used motor mount adapters and a 700r4 to GEN III adapter kit from Advance Adapters. I reused the stock radiator with the 5.3s mechanical fan. I’m not running a heater so I capped the feed from the pump and adapted the steam vent to the return. Using the 5.3 harness and fuse block I modified them following the guides from LT1swap. I used Metric to AN, twist-lock hose, and AN to LS fuel rail adapters to get it fuel from the EP-381 pump I installed.

I finished it the weekend before I head off to Afghanistan and took it out mudding. It ran really good and used far less fuel than any other truck out there.

My friends took it back out over Christmas and it performed perfectly. Really happy with it, can't wait to get back and play with it some more. Here is one our youngest enthusiast my friends 5 year old son helping steer it through the mud with his Aunt.
