I all of a sudden got an urge to pic-whore my 2500 :D

People tend to dislike IFS-rigs. But I think they are quite ok, if you want a light trail-capability without sacrificing handling so much.
They are at least ten times nicer than a solid axle to drive on the road, in my opinion..

This is what it looks like today in all it's glory:rolleyes::

A couple of years ago I lifted it with a Rancho 6" kit

I choose Rancho because I thought it looked really sturdy with the one-piece lower "subframe"

But I didn't like the idea of my torsionbar crossmember hanging down like a plow
So I got a set of realift torsionbar relocators.
They were only ment for 4" lift though, so I had to fab a new transmission crossmember, for it to clear.

Btw never trust the length of the shocks that are included in liftkits.
I had to raise the mounts on my A-arms, since the front ones where to short:mad:
And the rear ones where too long...

And there the story could have ended, and we could have lived happily ever after;)

But no such luck...

I got rear-ended by a ?#¤%"& Mercedes
It trashed the rear section of my frame.
Not worse than it could have been straightened, but it was a little rusted as well, so I cut it of instead.
I then bought the rear section of a frame from a 2500HD (which is the same as a 3500) so now my truck is a 3000;)

Yeah my 89 K2500, was a pretty nice rig, plowed great and never broke any parts. Yours looks pretty tough, lots of work into the frame swap.

So you recognized the old H-body :)
It's a 75, that I've been restoring for many years now.
I've fixed all the rust, and there was plenty of it.
Now it's just waiting for me to complete the S10-spindle conversion...
But before that I need to finish the work on my K30 and build a 454 engine for my Camaro, so it'll have to wait some more...

I've always liked the Monzas, but there sure aren't many left these days. So, S-10 spindles huh? I've always wondered how guys make them 5 lug.

Jeesh dude, we know where all the Chevy's go to be reborn in Sweden.

Nice work.

Question: does the 2500 have fender mounted turn indicators? I think I see some on the pic with the bed and frame missing, but can't be positive. Reason I ask is I want to put some on my 99 Yukon and want to know where GM put them for markets that require them. Thanks, and nice work.

Yeah, they don't go to heaven when they die.
They get shipped to Sweden :D

Yes, we do have them in Sweden, but I'm afraid I can't answer your question.
I drilled new holes when I changed both my front fenders some years ago, and I can't remember for sure, but I don't think I used the stock locations.

Btw, I don't think your Yukon has the same body-style anyway, right?
Well, here's a better picture of them anyway.

Oh ok, I see how you did them, I want to put them lower down more in line with the body side trim, but that's prolly a very hard spot to put them in. Oh well. I have a link in my sig to pics of my Yukon, same general body style.

You know what's funny? You're a Chevy addict, in Sweden.

I deal with Volvo addicts here in the states all the time. (I work at a Volvo dealer)

I guess it's just funny to me. Wondering if you could find old Volvo stuff much easier than I can here. Hard to find or Euro only type things.

He's also got a 3/4 ton Dodge as his daily driver.

Yeah, it is a little funny.
Especially since I don't know squat about Volvos.
So I'm afraid I wouldn't be of much help with parts:o

How fun can it be with just a half engine anyway :D
