Saturday night coming home on the expressway my K5 pulled pretty good on a stock Z71 with flowmasters.. and a riced out honda with a fart pipe and lots of stickers... /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif I yelled "OOOHHHHH!" at the passanger as i was passing em, and they were like /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif and /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif. You get all sorts of ricer-boy clowns wanting to race anything around here, they pull up at a light and rev at me in my lifted k5. /forums/images/graemlins/screwy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif

Putting aside purpose built sand vehciles...

Since some of the most capable dunes vehicles are stockers... I think you did real good. In general... the bigger you go and more you do to a truck, the worse it is on the dunes.

My old Z71 would kick the sheet out of my CJ7 with a 454 and 40 inch tires.

The last time I Was at the dunes, a stock Ram with a Hemi was kicking butt all over the place.

do you guys worry about sand getting into u-joints and tie rods? I see the crap already seeping by, and I inject clean fresh grease in, but... still?

i think you did pretty damn good, i would be proud.
was it 2wd? i never heard of a SS 4wd.

That Joe Gibbs truck is pretty cool , but like others have said , its not a factory truck. more like a Saleen.
the SS is supposed to compete with the Hemi ram and i think it comes close to being as good. but Ford has the lightning which is by far better than both of those.

The best new muscle truck has got to be
the new dodge SRT-10. 500hp viper engine and 6spd. manual trans. makes me drool /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif
of course i'd never take any of those in the dunes.

The SS is "all wheel drive" and it must have some positraction unit in the back also because I saw him race some other people and both reartires where spinning in the sand.
