Hi everyone,

I bought my third K5 this spring. About 20 years ago, i have had two GMC Jimmy`s.
This latest is Chevy Blazer 1989, engine 350cid, transmission M 4speed.
Tyres are 31*10,5*15. I plan lifting the suspension of 4 inches and 33 tyres. I drive in the summer and in the winter I install lift kit.

Wow, welcome to the site. It's great to see how many different countries are represented here, all together for the same reason.

Very nice truck and what a great start too. It's interesting to see the manual trans in the late model blazer.

First, sorry about bad English skill of mine, I was a lazy student of the school.
manual transmission reason is due to taxation. 80's and 90's SUV vehicles was lower car tax. Finnish tax law adopted SUV-vehicles such cars with a power take-off. The smaller the car tax demanded Finnish army who wanted the off-road cars is enough and the army should be taken, where appropriate, access to cars.
Tax Act was amended by the goverment found that the tax-free off-road vehicles is more than a soldiers .... Today, these tax benefits no longer exist.

Neat.

We've got a couple members from up in Scandenavia. I know Sweden and Norway are present and pretty sure we've at least had Finnish members.

Far parts are easy to get, GM trucks have been imported to Finland in time a lot, so the more companys sell parts in Finland. Sometimes you may have to wait for the parts to be ordered from Sweden. If there is not, then they will be in the United States. I do not know whether the parts more expensive here, but at least cheaper than our 2007 Volvo S60.
Expensive gasoline because these old trucks are no longer in "vogue". Fuel costs 1.65€ per liter (2,16 USD).

Thanks:woot:. Good if my English is understandable. I found old photos of the two Jimmy`s what I had 90's. Scan them tomorrow and I'll put here, if the scan is successful. Comes with a few picture in garage when we "restore" -78 Jimmy.

That would be $8.18/Gallon equivalent. :eek1: Vs our $3.65/Gallon in the US!

Here are a few photo Jimmy that I had 1990. It had a 6.2 L diesel and TH700 R4 transmission. I was then 19 years old and very proud of the truck.

Here are a few photo Jimmy which I bought in 1992.It was a 350 cid and 4 speed manual transmission. I was a "mental disorder" when I chose the color of the truck which was painted.

Nice looking trucks man.

What exactly was the thought process on the second one...?

The price of petrol in Finland is a robbery. 57% of the price is tax. Today I got the solution to the problem. Across the border in Russia is €0.85 per liter of gas ($4.2/Gallon). I got the visa today and my house is 12 miles from the border. I do not like to visit in Russia because I do not trust them, you can not know how the trip goes, but I have to sacrifice for a cheaper gasoline due:laugh:.

Thanks. The truck's body was badly rusted and I fixed it rusting. I wanted The truck a new color that does not have the same kind in Finland:D. The previous owner had brought a truck in Ontario, Canada. it was ready 3 inch suspension lift blocks. Also the front!! Truck swung from side to side when driving fast:laugh:.

What are diesel prices?
Diesel costs here € 1,45 / liter, ($ 7.22 / gallon). Diesel prices rose a few years ago, 30%, and now costs almost as much as gasoline.
Before the price increase to compensate for the difference between the car-specific powertrain tax.
Tax is determined by the total weight. If the car weighed more than 1800kg, and it was large enough for the load, the vehicle was able to register a commercial vehicle and then received a tax reduction.
These vehicles had to drive only 80 kilometer per hour (49,7mph) and could not have back seats.
Commercial vehicles, including gasoline vehigles, were also receiving other tax breaks on imports.
