I drove my Blazer topless to work 2 weeks ago and about 2 hours before I was to get off work the skies darkened and there was a significant threat of rain. This was not mentioned in the weatherchannel.com weather report I perused before I left that morning. I used some personal time and cut out an hour early. It never rained (whew!) but ever since I have been cautious about driving to work in the topless K5.:smirk:

Until today. I just went to Target and bought an 8x10 tarp and 6 bungee cords that I will stash under the back seat. Now I have some protection in case of a wayward drizzle. I hope to rarely have to use it...

Do any of you other fulltop guys have an emergency rain plan or am I just the only one with an interior worth going through the trouble of worrying about rain damage? :p:

Hey, you even got a matching tarp!

Back when I had an interior, yup, I carried a tarp and bungees. Fortunately blue is easy to match in tarps ;)

Smart thinking.i probaly would of done the same thing ,if i had a full convertible
You should probably still have something to cover your backseat area since you just put in that new carpet and have a nice interior like mine.

No, you're the only one with an interior worth going through the trouble of worrying about rain damage, so don't sweat it.

Braggart. :D

Thanks Wes. :D

I think I may cut 2 large squares in that tarp right where the side windows are in case (God forbid) I may have to actually drive somewhere in the rain.

hey Craig, them 32 inch tall tires do any rubbing yet.
Nope, they won't either. Running 33s is where some minor rubbing starts, but even then only in certain extreme steering positions (i.e. cutting the wheel hard over a large bump).

I picked the 32s because there was no way I would ever take a Sawzall to any body panel of my Blazer.

BE CAREFUL if you have to drive with that on. tarps and bungees have a way of eating chips out of paint! definately wouldn't want that!
