I decided to do a write up on how to install the seat heaters from www.heatedseatkits.com , they are waterproof carbon mesh that can be trimmed and cut.
Corbeau Baja SS seats... they used to be black, but faded to blue. If I had it to do over again I would have gotten the vinyl centers.
bottom of the seat
untie the knot in the cord that runs through the panels.
after the cord is out of two of the sides you can start to pull the cover loose from the seat frame. Be careful of the foam as it can tear where it is glued.
Turn the seat upside down and continue to peel the cover back.
You dont have to take the cover all the way off, so I leave it on the headrest to keep it straight.
This is how the seat kit comes for each seat. It is all packaged up in its own bag with the wiring, fuse, and switch.
There are two heating pads for each seat. It is important that the pad with the 4 wire connector goes on the bottom. It has a built in pressure switch to make sure that someone is in the seat before it comes on.
you can see the pressure sensor in the right side of this pic. Be sure to place it in an area that will see pressure when someone is sitting in the seat.
this is the connector for the back pad. It only has two wires.
The pads have adhesive on two ends of the pad. remove the backing and place them carefully.
This is where I placed my pads.
I used a sharp knife to cut the slot for the submarine belt. Since it is carbon mesh it will still work even with a hole in it.
Carefully roll the cover back onto the seat frame, making sure that the pads and foam stay in place. After you get the cover back on it may feel loose until you tighten up the cord on the bottom. The way that I threaded the cord back through was with a coat hanger.
The wiring was brought through the slot for the seat belt on the side and down and under to the bottom of the seat.
Here is the High=Red, Low=Green, and Off switch.
Just hook up to switched power and ground, mount the switch and enjoy warm toasty buns.
