My Luck Doesn't Change

I didn't but my buddy may have, he had the underneath part of the fun. May have knocked the retainer off too.

A few theories: 1: I rerouted the trans lines and had one a little closer to the exhaust than I liked. May have helped heat the fluid AND the motor was running hot during the run which may have aggravated the problem. 2: I needed to drop the TV cable back a click or 2 after changing linkage hookup. Maybe the combo of higher line pressure and heat did it.

Trans History: I bought this trans rebuilt by a guy with a good rep for making 700r4s strong. It never slipped or hung up in a gear since I put it in. The numbers I ran said it is an 89 which means the 'walking bushing' problem was already solved by the updates.

I'm hoping it's a simple seal replace rather internal problems causing it to blow. I'll know more this weekend I guess.

Well here I go again with the 700r headaches. Most likely my own fault this time ( I hope) It's more a dribble than a stream, coming from the seal area behind the TC. I can see the retainer still in place on the bottom but won't know for sure til I get the monster away from the motor. Rigged up a platform bolted to my jack that may let me slide the whole deal back like a 'normal' tranny.
