My Mopar K5

I have made a commitment to not do a build thread, all my build details will be kept in my blog. Mainly because I want it to be clean and easy to follow, and the build threads can become a bit cluttered. Ryoken's is a great example, there is so much information there, but it can be hard to find because of dozens of pages of other stuff. His build is amazing, and he and many others have given me the ideas I plan to implement.

I may just post a thread linking to the blog home page that has all the categories to easily jump to what you are interested in. We will see if my idea works as well as the build threads, or if it falls on it's face.

for 2100 you can buy a nice k5 in az.. save up or come up with the rest to get it shipped

Give up on your rusty heap and get a rust free one from the Southwest. What is considered common and "slightly rusty" out there is rare and pristine here.

I won't buy a truck like ours from up here unless it's for parts or a song of a deal.

If you guys are trying to search large areas of Craigslist use www.Craigshelper.com .

supersize, I HATE YOU! I'm too damn broke for you to be showing me your rust free truck porn!:wink1:

I've had the truck 17 years and will never get rid of it. The other guys insurance won't call me back or anything right now. I didn't even tell them it's going to cost $4,600 to fix. I told my insurance company that my dad (still under his name) is going to be out of town and wants to be there for the deal. I did this to buy some time to see what the other insurance company will do, but I might be screwed. My insurance said they contacted the other guy so I'm sure the know the $2,100 deal now.

Don't take this the wrong way but if it's as bad as you say you're just pissing away good money after bad trying to fix and restore something that rusty. Better off to start over with a better truck than try and cobble yours back together and still have the same issues in other places.

If it's the other guy's fault your insurance company should be handling all of it. They have lawyers for a reason. You shouldn't have to be calling anyone outside of your insurance agent's office.

If you and others could only see how good of condition the rest of it is, I think everyone would want to save it. It was "Best in the Midiwest" but right now it's not. I'll fix that!

Dude, I've seen thousands of trucks like yours. Owned a '86 K5 about a decade ago that looked perfect but needed entirely new floorboards.

You'll be money ahead by going out west and finding something that runs, drives, and doesn't require massive structural body work to make good again than by pissing away money redoing major parts of your truck's body.

I've said my piece, it's your truck and your money.
