Hey everyone i'm Dylan from Calgary Alberta

First post, been reading in the back ground for a while. So here are a few pics of my vehicles. Always wanted a K5 for off roading, exploring, doors, top off, 1 tons, 40's.

First purchased year and a half ago,1988 Blazer (black) for $1415 USD I'll convert as many more Americans here. With now 106250 miles on her. 350, 700r4, full load. Plan was to use it to use it for off roading, did my best to clean it up probably have double in it now getting things fixed, sending unit, fuel pump, rebuilt throtle body, injectors, t case seal, front pinion seal, steering wheel bearing, door locks, couple trim pieces, all the wiring and and pieces in the back window. But my Chevy friend says its way to nice to destroy mug bogging.

Second purchase about a year ago, so I can have a off road toy 87 Jimmy (white)for $432usd with 271239 miles not running 6.2 diesel, 700r4, full load. Got it from a scrapper that couldn't get the engine to start, he got it from a woman that went through a messy divorce took it from her husband outta spite and let it sit for 10 years as her kids were interested in a honda civic. Bled the fuel lines, cleaned up the cables and put the proper size batteries in. It fired right up, purrs like a kitten. The odometer has to be replaced as the miles are way too high for how long it has sat. And how good the door hinges are, seats, everything feels way to tight for it being that high.

Third and most recent purchase, this week, to tow the off road toy as the company F150 I don't really have permission to tow with. 84 Chev C30 flat deck totally bare bones base, purchased for $330USD 366 industrial big block on propane 4spd manual, 11ft deck. Not running, has sat for 4 years, ran when parked, guy just wanted it outta his yard, has all new tires.

This site is so worth paying for, it has showed me how to rebuild the black blazers rear window and not have to pay to get it done.

How can i find out about build sheets? and what does everyone think of my purchases?

Oh last pic is of me at a wolfdog sanctuary.

Dylan

Very nice and awesome scores! Looks to be nicer then my my southern K5!

Yes I've registered 11 years ago, just to do a little reading and see pictures of members rides for inspiration. I only actively start lurking in the back ground, reading for about a year and half, when I got the black K5. The thing is there is so much info on this site, a search will just about answer any question you have. And some people get a little pissy asking questions that have been answered, so I guess i just never bothered to post. Until now that I'm showing my fleet.

This morning the black K5 back power window stopped working, so I spent half a day tearing the whole back window apart to see where I went wrong. Turns out the soldering came loose at a connection. (first time doing it).

Also pressure washed the engine bay of the C30, looks a lot better getting 4 years of grime off it. Also I got the propane delivery driver to give me 8 gallons, so i can try to fire it up. It has a Impco 425 system on it. Is it the same as a forklift system, as in just fill it up and crank it and it self bleeds? The other thing is in Alberta propane vehicles need an propane system inspection every 5 years, this truck hasn't had one since the 80's. The inspection is $150, certificate is $50 once it passes, I know it needs a hose or 2. What is everyone's thoughts? pay to have it correct, just drive it as is, as the previous owner did, or get rid of the propane system and put gas tanks and a carb back on?

Here is a few more picks of the interiors of my fleet. For me the black one is pretty dirty by my standards, needs to be detailed to shine again. I cant seem to get away from strip club red interiors though. I was happy to see blue in the C30.

Interesting...that 6.2 has an early (82-83) spin-on fuel filter and the early (82?) remote power steering reservoir. Not typical 1987 stuff. Do you have the secondary fuel filter hanging off the back of the intake manifold?

I also see cruise control, AC, and a tee on the front brake line. My rig has a trailer brake controller on the end of that tee, not sure if there are other uses for it.

I've asked the wife if I can get a lap dance in the back seat already, but just got eyes rolling.

I thought the spin on filter was aftermarket? Just checked there is no box filter and no secondary filter by the intake. Weird about the power steering reservoir. I wonder is its a different year engine?

yes it has cruise, AC and a brake controller, but no hitch...

Weird to have trailer brakes without a hitch. The spin on filter might be aftermarket, but it looks like the stock early units. The box filter would go in the same spot as the spinon filter. I'm not sure what the rules are on the remote reservoir. Most of the rigs I have seen have the tank integrated into the pump (like your black truck has). I got some funny looks at Autozone when I walked in and asked for the hose that runs between the reservoir and the pump, that setup didn't appear in their catalog (though that doesn't mean much).

Here is a picture of what my '83 looks like. I guess it is different from yours.

Here is what my '84 looks like with a Stanedyne FM100 base attached to the normal box-filter bracket.

Your top-mounting bracket looks different yet. :dunno:

You were creepin' on here for 11 years??:D Unless the CK5 calendar thingy is F----- up, a few pics I posted on here are dated 1969.

Cool stable of trucks you got there. Leaf springs and solid front axles are addicting man. We get it.:k5:

I like your "fleet"..:).....that C-30 with a 366 & 4 speed must haul things pretty good...I assume that engine was swapped in ?...never saw a 366 in anything under a C-40 from the factory..

Ya I need to start calling about fleet insurance. The wife's jeep is in my name as well. I know nothing about the 366, if it runs, how it tows. Or most importantly what oil filter, air filter, plugs and belts it takes. Does anyone know.

Should be the same as other BBC engines used, unless it has a canister oil filter...belts & plugs may be different than a 454,you can look them up online--it's possible the stock air cleaner off whatever engine was in it before was re-used..
