My new 91 K5...

If i have those either of those gears could i bolt on my 35s with a 4" lift and not kill anything? guess what i really want to know is how the 700 will hold up.

thx for the replys!

If you have the 3.08's you will wear out the 700 quicker than with the 3.73's. You would eventually wear it out though either way. Mine had 3.73's and lived for about a year on the 35's. Rebuilt it with the corvette servos and and tranny cooler and it is still on the road 4 years later. Of course I don't know what the current owner has had to do, I sold it two years ago.

If its the stock 700r4 then expect it to go at anytime. Mine went 5 years ago and a buddy rebuilt it for me with all the upgrades and its been good so far, and It see's a lot of wheelin out here, but I guess its only a matter of time before it go's and I have to slap in a built th400.

I had 170,000 miles on my 700 before i rebuilt it and even then i only did it because I was doing the motor. I put 4.10's in when I went to 35's and the speedo is almost spot on. I think you may be asking for trouble running 35's with 3.08's.
